I loved Rick because he said what was on his mind, and didn't care what others thought. I'll surely miss him.

Listening to Scott call into WOOD radio this morning broke my heart. This is a huge loss to the local community. He will be missed. RIP.

On my 40th birthday, my son and I went to Coppersville for one of his radio shows. My son requested "Fred Bear" as my son's song for me. Rick was great. I will never forget that day ever. Thanks Rick! My sympathy to his family and his family at Wood1300.

Ricks' career spans so many years in Grand Rapids...before there was Scotty there was Robert J. Wright and Captn' Jay Allen...and then Rick, Darla and Jay...Rick was a very talented man and will be missed by many...God speed Rick!

Rick,
You have always put a smile on my face and a pain in my side from your off the wall antics. I still listen to old tapes from the GRD days and get a big laugh. You will be missed,
Hang in there Scott,

I remember listening to the Rick and Scott show on WGRD about 13 years ago on my long commute to work. They made me laugh when I was having a bad morning. Rick, you will be terribly missed.

Rick will be sadly missed by so many people. Heaven gained another outstanding angel. There were many days I couldn't wait to awake and listen to the morning show. Rick provided the pick-me-up I needed to start the day. His differences, at times, with Scott made the show worth listening too. Rick had the compassion to listen and give back to so many callers. God be with who knew him personally.

How sad and such a sudden death leaves those left behind grieving. At the same time, I can't think of a better way for a talk show host to "sign off." Wednesday we heard Rick and Scott spend three hours talking to people about the President's speech. Rick Beckett was his usual cranky persona and that's how I will remember him.

God Bless to Rick's family, friends, those of us who were merely part of his extended family of loyal listeners.

What a shock it was this morning,my clock radio woke me up with the voice of WOOD Radio's Gary Allen saying that Rick Beckett had passed away over night. My heart goes out to all his family, friends and co-workers and to his little dog Bandit.

What can you say about Rick? The fact that he was a familiar voice and seemed like the type of guy that lived next door to you. He was Grand Rapids Talk Radio.

My thoughts and Prayers are with his family and friends, know that he will be missed by all of Grand Rapids.

It is like I have lost somebody very special to me and I never even met the man. I remember when I found out that they were back on the air on 1300 and have tuned in every day at 9:00 a.m. to listen since then. I loved the way Rick and Scott's personalities played off one another. I am so going to miss him. God Bless You, Rick. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for so many years of thought provoking conversation, for sharing yourself with us and especially for the laughter. You will never be forgotten!

While Rick will be dearly missed by all of us, I'm sincerely hoping that WOOD has the good sense to keep Scott on the air either solo or teamed up with another radio personality who is of his and Rick's calibre.

I would never want to diminish Rick's incredible contribution to Grand Rapids talk radio, but I'd be willing to bet that he would be the first to say, "the show must go on..." Please let it go on with Scott Winters at the helm. I for one can't forget that he has also worked hard at entertaining West Michigan for many years.

The entire WOOD radio team is in my prayers.
