As I read over these comments I am reminded of the story of the adulterous woman told in John 8:1-11. The story is told that she was caught in the act of adultry(found guilty) and the response of the public was to stone her to death, which even the law of Moses commanded them to do. When they asked Jesus what to do, he began writing in the dirt, and simply stated, " If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." One at a time, starting with the oldest of them, they started to leave. Just what did Jesus write in the dirt? Could that be where the question "Do you have any 'dirt' on them?" originated? If Jesus were here today, what would he be writing for you to show compassion? We all are dirty and need the compassion of a savior, and there is no sin that Jesus can't forgive us of, even those that the law says "Stone Him!!"
