I hope that drunk driver rots in Hell for what he did! What a worthless piece of trash. Too bad he couldn't have just hit a barrier and killed himself.

Such a shame that so many innocent people lost their lives because of this idiot! Stories like this infuriate me!!!!

They are making all kinds of laws to prohibit smoking. When are they going to come down hard, really hard, on drunks? More than likely, never, because the ones who make the laws are some of the biggest drinkers, and they probably get much financial help for their reelection campaigns from the liquor industry. Prohibition didn't work the last time, and wouldn't work today, but we can demand that there are some really tough consequences for drinking and driving, starting from the first offense.

No driver that drinks ever thinks that this could possibly happen to them, but yes it can. I am certain this young man did not intend for this to happen, and he will be living with this for the rest of his life, but at the same time yes he should be punished. I feel so sad for the family that he hurt so badly, but yet I do feel some pain for him as well. I am certainly praying for all.

I am sure people know that but for those of us that choose to,it helps. prayers are not only for the families but for us as we know we can't do anything else. Is there a reason for you comment?

This isn't accurate. Haley, Lacie and Beau Burkman and Vadie Griffin are Bethany's children, they are all from Maryland.

Jordan and Sidney are Danny's daughters and they are from Michigan.

Regardless, a man has lost his wife and 4 daughters. A little boy has lost his mother. Not to mention the father of the Burman girls or Jordan and Sidney's mother and all of their extended families. Bethany also has a 16 year old son.

Bethany was an incredibly vibrant woman and a fantastic mother, and a Christian, so I'm sure she and her family appreciate prayers. Rest in peace Bethany, Haley, Lacie, Jordan and Vadie. And may God wrap his arms around Daniel, Beau and Syndney and the rest of the family.

Unthinkable that this happened. They are in my thoughts and prayers! And no, prayers won't bring them back, but it will bring comfort to all those affected by this tragedy!

No sympathy should be shown to the murderer of an eight week old innocent. No one forced him to drink. No one forced him to drive. Those where his decisions and he needs to face the results of his actions. How can someone who ends the lives of five people that meant him no harm be shown any mercy. He is a baby killer.

My son was critically injured by a drunk driver in 1996,..by the grace of God he lived..but our family suffered by someones choice to drink and drive. No family should ever have to go through this because of someones choice. In court this drunk driver wanted the judge to believe he was the victim in all this not our son..Even after 11 years I get so angry when I read or hear the news about a drunk driver causing an accident that injures or kills someone....It saddens me to think that we cant seem to get the drunk drivers of the road..I would be willing to bet this man has a previous arrest for driving while drunk

I have heard 3 different ages on the baby: 6 months, 8 weeks and 8 months.
Regardless of any ones age, I am so sorry for the loss of these beautiful children and their mother. May you have the comfort of God and others during this very difficult time. God Bless.
