Cash for clunkers is just another welfare for the wealthy program too!
The Republican Senators group that spams my inbox better start feeling FEAR if they know what is good for them!!!
(Especially the Social conservatives who want to take my freedoms and make my choices for me...They are NO DIFFERENT than the Taliban and they all deserve to die a violent death!!!)

If you disagree with Neko's socialist views, than you are a fascist.

Quit hiding behind your false Ron Paul shield and embrace that inner Vladimir Lenin that you embody so well.

I'm not saying that the idea is ALL bad. If the object is to boost new, fuel efficient car sales and take a gas guzzler off of the road, why couldn't these cars be sold to salvage yards so that they could be parted out? Those monies could have helped to fund the program and the sales of the parts would be money back into the economy. They don't get much money for these as scrap, and it is indeed very costly to scrap out the vehicles (extraction of hazardous substances, etc.)
That's kind of where I stand. I don't buy the need to take all those cars off the road. I mean, we're talking about scrapping a car that gets 17 MPG and keeping one that gets 18 MPG so you KNOW there were good cars gone. If poor gas mileage were the target, then lower that MPG. If sales alone were the target, you could have probably sold twice as many with just a $2500 rebate. Now the program is out of money and we'll watch the dealers struggle to get sales again. And NOW they have lots of $ out there waiting to get refunded for it. NOT a healthy thing for any business. This program wasn't stretched out enough to get consumers confidence rolling more. The news is already talking about school shopping being down. Retailers are very nervous. I think we'll see sales/consumers confidence plummet again - especially with the healthcare issue on the table.

Liberalism "thinks" that they are always looking out for the disadvantaged, poor, uneducated, minorities (which are becoming the majority), and the "little" guy. What their programs due in fact are to "KEEP" those families/individuals to totally rely on the government.

As the old saying goes “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”.

Praise the Lord that I'm not a "disadvantaged" person but I'd take offense if Liberal offered me hand out after hand out and not considered offering me a "Hand Up". Let's give these people relying on the government for a hand out some credit they can he contributing members to society they need a little help. Once they "find" their contribution they will feel a self worth.

Those damn "elitist Liberals" must do this to further lift themselves from those they are trying to help by giving them "hand-outs".

Did you pay attention to the economic policies of the neoliberals? The eliminating labor protections/unions, reducing their wages?

I suppose what will now be said is the difference between Conservatives and conservatives. The point being that no matter how one wants to slice the pie the prevailing political battle is between conservatism and liberalism. And there is no difference between what the Republicans (say they) are fighting for and Libertarians say they are fighting for. Because the Libertarians also believe in eliminating all government "interference" from the market place.

And yes I will say there are Democrats that fall into the definition of neo-liberal.

Oh, and no, Progressives are fighting to put the rules that level the playing field back into place and re-institute the referees in the game. Whereas others are trying to eliminate the rule makers and keepers.

Pay attention to this person's words, folks. Does this sound remotely like the kind of country where you want your children to try and expand their horizons?
"Put in place"..."Re-Institu te", "Rule-Makers" and "Keepers".

My God! This person really wants marxism in America.

The liberal/progressive left must be stopped.

SIB, those are just talking points.

All Conservatives and most Libertarians believe there must be rules of the game, rules for capitalism.

Without rules you have Anarchy. Conservatives and Libertarians are not for Anarchy.

The same can be said with Social Programs. Most Conservatives believe in providing a social safety net for people.

The argument that conservatives what a anything goes in the marketplace is an over generalization of reality.

Which is why I've stopped 'discussing' with SIB. He\she starts making sense and then all of a sudden drops off the deep end with crap like that.

Besides, I project, am elite and am unconstitutional in every word I type and speak.

Chi, Chi, Chi, CHIA - OBAMA!

I love the commericals and I love the Chia Obama!

I'm letting my Chia Obama grow his hair way out to a 70's Afro.

But I'm sure that makes me a racist.
