$900 Million down the drain.....

No repeal of Dodd-Frank for the top four donors to Romney's election campaign.

No Tax Amnesty for all those Moguls who have billions stashed in overseas tax havens that wanted to bring their untaxed profits back home.

No repeal of Obamacare for all of those patriots who want to see smaller government but free health care at the nearest emergency room.

Thankfully no one who supported the failed conservative movement expected anything in return for their support!

Good Day,
And the same could be said about Obama as far as hypocrisy. He told business leaders not to go to Vegas. How many times did he go after that statement? Where is the "transparency"? He complained about corporate jets yet he buzzes around like a busy bee in the ultimate corporate jet - on our dime BTW. "I will not rest!" well, maybe after another round of golf. He spoke of a more polite political tone only to run one of the most vicious campaigns of late.
The bigger problem is that he is at the helm of a nation on the downfall.(Yet, nothing is ever HIS fault.) Heck, Reagan managed to get the ship to turn in three years, but Obama continues to steer the ship toward the rocks. Record chronic long term unemployment. The most number of people recieving food stamps ever. Record high numbers of people in poverty. And that is just the tip of the iceburg...

Steelie, a couple of things. First of all, regarding his use of Air Force One, every president makes use of it for re-election. When a president is on official business, the government pays the bill. On campaign trips, the campaign pays the bill.

Now regarding the campaign, Romney based his candidacy on his experience as a businessman. He put his business record on the table. So how is campaigning against what he based his campaign on "vile"? If Romney had based his campaign on his record as governor of Mass. and Obama went after his business record, then you might have a point. But in my opinion that point is not valid because Obama went after what Romney based his campaign on.

And, about Obama's handling of the economy. I read a piece in Time Magazine which pointed out that our recoveries from recession have been taken a longer time to complete in the last 30 years because of factors beyond our control like the fact that we now have a global economy. Our economy is tied to the economies of other countries. When the other countries do well, we do well. When their economies struggle, our economy struggles. That wasn't the case during the Reagan administration. So you're comparing apples to oranges when you compare how Reagan and Obama handled their recessions. That's a fact, not an excuse.

Good Day,

With all due respect...

A president (campaign) is supposed to do as you said above. However - Obama did not do this on several occasions. He is guilty of something called "piggybacking". What that means is he arranged for campaign stops and then scheduled official business nearby - so the campaign did not pay for those trips (entirely). On those occasions the costs are "supposed" to be split, saving the campaign huge sums of money. As reported by ABC News:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS/president...

Of course even on campaign business the taxpayer does pick up a portion of the bill, just the way it is (like security for example).

Maybe I did not make myself clear earlier. It is not that Obama went after Romney's experience as a businessman. That would happen in almost any election - no problem there. My point was that we were repeatedly told by the media and even Obama himself that we needed a new "nicer" political tone. Hence the hypocrisy as Obama went off the rails in his attacks. Which should not be suprising as that is how he ran virtually every campaign before his run in '08.

Economy... His (and by extension his administration's) policies have not been successful, unless of course you consider gutting the energy sector a "success". The auto bailout (admittedly started under Bush) has not worked. They owe us billions and it is now predicted they will be facing bankruptcy in as little as two years. I get your point on the global economy and do not disagree with that point. However, if we wanted to help our economy to improve why do we now have the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world? Look at what is already happening ahead of full implementation of "Obamacare" with people losing jobs or having their hours cut, in some cases, dramatically. How does it help the economy if someone was working 35-40 hours a week and now will be limited to 30 or less? Just this week 18,500 people lost their jobs from Hostess, in part because the unions (which he supports) would not budge. Where was the president?

Good Day,

I didn't know this was the Hostess thread... But I'll bite.

Do you know how executive pay raises are processed for the most part? By either contract or negotiation with the board of directors. The CEO can't just say he is going to go from $1 million a year to $5 million the next. So if you want to blame someone, blame the board of directors. Or better yet Silverpoint, Monarch and the other lenders who would have influence, and tried to save the company, despite union demands.

Hmmm... 5,000 union workers caused the loss of jobs for 13,5000 non-union workers, huh? Gee... Who is greedy?

I refer you back to the "Hostess Thread" for more...

The executive's from Solyndra got $500 million in stimulus money from taxpayers. What happened to that?
Oh, yeah, thats right,..... the executive's who were all Obama supporters took that money, and gave it to themselves as "bonus" money.
HUH,.......
Go figure.

The Hostess workers are reportedly terribly disappointed because the Obama administration didn't force Hostess into bankruptcy and then turn the company over to the unions, ala, GM and Chrysler.

I know I will get bashed for this but I will say it anyway......

I am confident that in the 2016 Presidential Election if there are two white men running against each other, we will see a HUGE drop in the number of people who vote.

If there is a white woman vs. a white man running, we will see a drop but not as big.

If there is a non-white woman vs. a white man we will see those voting numbers remain high.

You only get the free stuff if you are in the country illegally. They trade you a phone for your vote.

I voted for Obama and I didn't get any "free stuff." Where is the "free stuff?"
If you want to see who really gives away the "free stuff," look at which party gives tax cuts and loopholes to those who do not need them, and that the country cannot afford.

Racism is alive and well in the good old USA! If whites made these comments they would be arrested.
