Wildcats do rock. Don't always win the games but are always winners. From what I have heard, they showed tons of class when they lost in the football final in a close game. Good job! I have Grandkids in Soccer and swimming there, have daughters that played basketball, volleyball, and track, and years ago played football, and track myself there. Over the years there have been great players and coaches in all the sports at Wayland.
Then I look at what other schools have in thier sport programs and find the same thing most of the time. Sports, Drama, Debate, all those extra after school activities develop outstanding citizens and need to be promoted to our youth. Good job Anthony, makeing the dream team.

Mary L :

As a grandmother who has watched my 14 yr. old grandson play football now for many years in Wayland; I can understand your pride. I hope my grandson does as good as yours someday; he too has been playing on a team since he was little; but he's never been really little...lol. He is 6 ft. 210 lbs. already; and loves football.

Congratulations on your grandson's athletic and academic achievements!

My daughter just told me my grandson Taylor had Anthony's old practice jersey this year, and Taylor thought that was pretty cool, because Anthony is a great player, and a REALLY nice kid. Yes, he plays with Ben. Looks like we will both have grandkids on a future senior team.

Does a thread have to have a "purpose", because if so, then you haven't been reading much on here. We have a grandmother posting her pride in her grandkids; I find that refreshing, considering all the hundreds of other thread topics that are demeaning and useless to many. We have the freedom to choose what thread to go to, and what to post; quite frankly, I ask what is your "purpose" to make such a comment about another?

WHOA!! Easy TLC! I'm not trashing Grandma, I'm just curious what this is!!
I went to Wayland and I was wondering if I can add anything to the discussion. I was wondering if this is a current sports theme or old.

The title was VERY GENERIC!! Wayland Union Wildcats. OK, what about them??

So, if you're off your soapbox, I ask again, WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF THIS???

You know, you've just opened this thread up to a lot of ridicule and anti-Wayland comments now. Good job!!

The thread had one post from back when the Wildcats made the playoffs; but nobody else responded back then. I didn't start the thread, but I'm assuming because other schools had threads at that time, that is why this one was started. Since I have lived in Wayland for many years; I happened to notice that a new post was made, and it wasn't from someone bashing this town or students.
Whether you do or not; some others seem to make a point of posting just to criticize people for talking in a thread. I guess I am a little touchy about the subject; because I don't understand why some choose to be so obnoxious. If that wasn't your intent; then I apologize for questioning your intent. I just didn't want to see someone bashing this Grandmother who obviously has so much pride for her grandchildren.

Read the above posts. If you don't have anything to contribute, you don't need to participate in the thread. Really, why does it bother people?
