And yet that didn't stop you from applauding radell for selectively quoting the Bible

You are just pissed that I didn't selectively agree with your definition of religious morality according to your specific religion.

I notice you still won't address radell's comment...that speaks volumes by itself.

Have a nice weekend...

I have another take on sin. Men invented religion men invented sin and of course man invented god. Always like to remember this there is no christian god it was also invented by men and I use the term men loosely these inventors just want people to live in fear. So I ask the question if god is my father why should I fear him should we fear our fathers I say no. I always like these guys like robertson who claim to have conversations with god like they are anointed or something. Now back to the other part of this subject, not being gay myself I cant really relate to that part of someones psyche but over the past two years I have become acquainted with many gay men and women and I find them to be some of the most wonderful people I have ever met, and realized we are no different we hurt we love we play we live and that is how it should be and until the day that others accept the fact that they are not the holders of some perceived truth nothing will change. And no one can tell me other than this is that the only reason some of these bigots hate or dislike and fear gay people is because its all about sex plain and simple. It has nothing to with rights they just don't like it that some men enjoy men and some women enjoy women.

I notice that you conveniently omitted the part that Christ - immediately after saying "Let the one without sin among you cast the first stone.." - also turned to the woman and said "Now go and sin no more"
So? Are you saying that she didn't?

Christians don't live in fear. Posers like Pat Robertson do what you say, and that's why Christians should denounce him.

Some "Christians" do live in fear and not to be argumentative, but what gives you the right to judge Pat Robertson's heart? I totally disagree with Mr. Robertson but it is NOT my job or right to judge him and if you were a Christian, you would know that as well. THIS is why you and I disagree.

Unfortunately, most who spend their time ridiculing Christians find it necessary to misquote and take out of context what Jesus said. Jesus never condoned sinning, no matter what the sin. Jesus did indeed say to love your neighbor as yourself, however, no place is he quoted as saying, "love your neighbor as yourself and ignore the sin they are committing."

A moral compass existed long before "religion" came into play. Unfortunately, most don't understand the difference between religion and a belief system, and they do not and will not get into an honest discussion about the differences because then their desire to ridicule a belief system different than their own is exposed.

You mean the lovely "Leave It To Beaver" 50's when black people could not sit at the same diner counter as whites? When women had to quit their jobs if they got married? When neighborhoods were restricted to certain ethnics...whites only? Are those the days you miss, REGGIE?

(Why is REGGIE such a popular name with the liars who make up fake names morning noon and night?)

You and I disagree because you don't understand what I said, you read what you want. I am judging Pat Robertson's ACTIONS as we were called upon by the Bible. And what you said clearly judged my heart. I didn't put Christians in quotes. Because that was my point. If you follow what Jesus really said, you don't live in fear and we are called upon to help others live in love.

Almost the entire Bible is lifted from ancient world myths, which were dreamed up to explain lightning and earthquakes and death. The ignorant people were afraid, so they came up with interesting tales to ease their minds. The early clergy found that if their masses swallowed the comforting stories, why not add scary stories to use as a control of the unwashed masses also?

It's interesting that even from the very beginning the clergy also found scaring their flocks was a LOVELY way to scare money out of their pockets also.

All we need do is look at the magnificent cathedrals of Europe, or the Asian ones, or Mosques or temples or whatever place that humans bend and kneel on the floor to pray, when most of the people lived in mud huts the houses of worship were the biggest buildings in town. That did not come cheap.

Robertson and crew are no better than the fire and brimstone preachers of yore. I've seen their channel. It is half overly made up women and men telling inspirational tales of fairy tale concept and the other half of the show is shameless begging for money from ladies who live on cat food due to their poverty. Shameful.

That's easy Clay, because we believe in freedom and equality. If you don't like that, you could petition the government for redress of grievances, or you could move to a country that has a legal code more in fitting with your personal views like Iran or Russia.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Somewhere, somehow, someone is going to die because of Pat's words. We probably won't hear about it, but some unstable watcher of his show will take his words literally and go out and do "God's work" of following Leviticus, which is NOT even the Christian bible anyway, and kill someone who is gay, or perceived to be gay. If there IS afterlife judgement, Pat might be mighty surprised to see what's waiting for him.

Interesting comment however one must first believe in the concept of sin created by religion to begin debating whether a neighbor is "sinning".
Please elaborate on religion and a belief system and how they relate to human morals. Morals have nothing to do with either other than religion is a belief system and has twisted the moral compass humans have had since...forever.
