Blues on the Mall starts this coming Wednesday. I've heard different stories about how large the Bike lot will be due to some construction, but are any other Topix users who ride going to be down there?

I love it. Go as much as possible in the summer. Great music and great bikes. I think it was GRPete who mentioned something about the bike lot not being as large this year though due to some construction in the area. I hope that isn't the case.

Email me with some kind of map or something, would you? I haven't been down there since you could walk the mall, so I have no idea where the bikes park or where the bands play- although the last part would probably be pretty easy to figure out once we got there :)

Rosa Parks Circle is where the concerts are. Here is a map to the Bob. The bike lot is right next door.

My alltime favorite Blues on the Mall event was Walter Trout. He is one of my alltime favorite blues artists and to see such talent for free is insane! Great voice, amazing guitar player.

I heard that the parking lot next to the BOB WILL be OPEN this year, construction starts later. That lot will fill up fast this Wednesday. The ramp right across the street is the next best option unless you can find something on the street.

Thanks for the info Pete. That's good to hear. My experience is, is you get to the bike lot after 6:00 you are SOL...

The first night you might be out of luck at 5:30.

I am going to try Mrs. GRPete does not get out till 6 so there is probably no way I am getting in the lot. It being a Wednesday night I bet I do manage to find my way to the Pickwik either on the way home or just to go there. Weather permitting if you see a black Road King out front stop in. That is just west of the intersection of Diamond and Cherry on Cherry. Best way to get there from downtown is Fulton to Lake Dr. to Eastern, right on Eastern, left on Cherry and then a couple of blocks down on the right. Bartender on Wed. night is Kelly, quite a card, leave your sensitivity outside.

Ok, I'm going to try and be in the lot around 5 or so. I'm thinking perhaps we can arrange a topix riders meet at the bike lot one of these Wednesdays. Get all the topix riders together on their bikes.
