An accident like this is most unfortunate however, it also brings to light once again, Trains are deadly, unpredictable and unforgiving.
May the family of this unfortunate tragedy find strength and healing in this time of loss...

Trains are deadly? Do ya think?

Unpredictable? Hardly, you do know they run on schedules and are confined to tracks?

Unforgivable? Well, no shit professor...THEY'RE FRICKIN' MACHINES!!!

Cut the "sympathy" routine, this kid was a stupid idiot doing what idiots do best...getting themselves killed.

This kid should win a Darwin Award.

Well Einstein if you would have read the article you would have noticed that the train had stopped and the kid was trying to cross the tracks between the cars. So... before you start on one of your rants you might want to get the facts first.

I'm not sure that the story is accurate. What I heard from someone who witnessed the accident is that the boy tried to cross between the two cars while the train was moving which makes more sense when you think about it. Trains don't go from standing still to 10 miles an hour in a matter of a few seconds.
My sympathy to the family..it's always a tragedy to lose a child.

I have family who live near that area. It's annoying to have that huge train stop dead on the tracks and not move, and people are trying to get to places. It's inconsiderate of the railroad company to have the train just stop like that for several minutes, very annoying. You're sitting there in your car and your engines are over-heating only due to the train!

I'm sad this young many died trying to get through this huge monster of a train that was stopped on the tracks.

While you have family that live in that area, I actually live less than a mile from there myself. It's fairly rare for a train to just stop dead on the tracks at that train crossing. I've lived here 15 years and have only seen that happen once or twice. For cars, there are two alternate routes around it; either down Nelson or Alger. Pedestrians, not so much.
It's sad that this young man was killed, but it was his own lack of judgment that caused it, not the train.

I did read the article, and this idiot shouldn't have been anywhere near this "unpredictable" train in first place.
The train was in no way "unpredictable" as it was going about it's schedule being controlled by the engineer. How is that unpredictable?

Place blame where it belongs...on the dead moron.

You must be a liberal, because only a liberal would blame the gun if someone got shot and killed and not the person who pulled the trigger.

Teens are teens and they do stupid stuff sometimes. He isn't an idiot, he just made a poor judgment and then paid for it with his life.

In the 14 years my family has lived in this area, I've been delayed by that train crossing at least 8 times with a train stopped on the tracks. That is the way I go to get to my family's home who live over on Oakdale/Eastern.

Doesn't matter though, the sad part is someone lost his life because of a poor judgment call. He probably thought he could get through the cars to the other side.
