does a store have to give you the price on the item if it rang up for $99 item and was mismarked and had 2 price stickers on it for $3.72?

They have to give you one of the itmes at the lower price. But if it's an obvious mismark, I'm not sure, That would be an obvious mismark because most people would know that an item that big would not be 3.72.

If you haven't already, please go to the manager of the store with your sales receipt and the product with the stickers on it. Many years ago, my mom bought an ice crusher at Meijer's. It rang up at $29.99 but was marked with a sticker at only $3.99. She got it for $3.99 thanks to an alert cashier. I think that ice crusher is still in the family after my parents passed on.

Stockers and price markers do make mistakes sometimes.

A lot of stores will only give you back the difference in prices, but they are supposed to give back 5 times the amount overcharged - like if an item was 50 cents over charged, they have to give you 5 times that, or as much as $5, no higher than $5.

They don't "have" to do it, but good customer service would have been to sell it to you for the sale price if you had already selected that product. If you decided to go get it because the customer in front you got it cheaper, then that would be a different story.

here is one most people did not know. If say mejier has something on sale for 29.99 and walmart sells it for 39.99 take the ad from meijer to walmart and buy that item not only will they match the price but give it to you cheaper and sometimes add a bonus like 5 more cheaper then that. so you will end up getting it for 24.99 at walmart. it has to be the exact same item and you must have the add for the competitors store. its like a coupon.
