It is now going on March, 18th and no one gets to go back, except those told to by management. This is honestly getting out of hand, and bargins need to be made. Unemployment doesn't even give most people half of the money they would usually make at work. Most people I work with make between $7.75 and $8.50/hr. to run the machines, pack parts, ship etc. We fit our lives around the amount of money we make. We buy our cars and our homes knowing what we can and can't afford. We set certian limits as to how much we can spend on wants and needs. By having to settle for unemployment it sets most of us back a lot, even not thinking about wants, the needs are set back. It's just all together a bad time for Michigan. I hope that this all comes to a settlement soon, as others do too.

I'm sorry but I really think you'd better look for a new job. Take a deep breath and just roll with it. You might need to move out of Michigan.

It has to get better in the state some day. I just has to.

It's amazing how easy it is to take foolish people and fill them with resentment to be actually supportive of the unions that are killing jobs in our state.
Its people like you with the Ignorance about Unions,I guess you would rather work for minimum wage! American was build with Unions. Nobody likes strikes and I hope they settle soon without going to near minimum wages. If everbody thought like you we would all be making the minimum wage. Im sorry, I will fight for what our past grandfathers fought so hard for.

Keep believing that, all the way to the unemployment line.

Lets see businesses could fight with the unions here in Michigan or, I don't know; MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE?

This pretty much looks like a troll comment, unless it's someone completely devoid of intelligence.

Just read all the comments in this thread. I sell industrial robots, and I say go Union! The more business you put under your thumb, the more people will come to me looking for automation products to replace lazy, overpaid workers.

Robots don't need disability, pensions or sick time.

So how many people does it take to keep the robots operative?

How much do the robots purchase in groceries, vehicles, clothing, tourism, etc.?

If companies want to higher cheap labor then they run the risk of only obtaining low quality employees. They know that will cost them big time in absences, medical, and other problems associated with having low income workers. The market will force the wages to work to both sides interests. Govt. intervention will only screw thing up.
let me just start by saying i am skilled trades, this company doesnt give 2 cents about its employees, as far as the tooling goes the tool room is run by half wit hacks who would like to call themselves toolmakers, yet this is the only stamping plant ive worked in where 99% of the tools that come off the shelf and go in the press wont run, granted the press dept. personnel are grossly underpaid and lack the ability to set dies and run them. i work there still but not for long, so sick and tired of lies, BS and tool room management trying to blow smoke up peoples ass when they dont know what their even doing or talking about. Just goes to show you get what you pay for...thinking of working at challenge, look elsewhere...ive seen monkeys throw shit at eachother at zoo's more organized than this place....
