Who is your favorite, or who do you think is the best male country singer of all time?

I like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Ray Price, Marty Robbins, Randy Owen,

Yeah i forgot to add Randy Travis & Garth Brooks.
I have a hard time naming a popular country singer who has come out AFTER Garth who I would say is "amazing"

I don't know about all time, but my favorites are Bobby Pinson, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. I also like Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, and Josh Turner. I like the comtemporary country more than the old twangy stuff.

I understand WhizBang. I like all 6 of the modern artists you mentioned, but none of them are my favorite even for modern. Their singing voices just cant compare to the guys I mentioned.
I dont even consider Urban to be country whatsoever. Talented yes, country no way.

I love every artist mentioned, Hank Sr & Jr. and Cash and Tompall, but I was trying to concentrate on actual quality of singing voice like Willie & Merle or OLD George Strait!
Im so glad I have SIRIUS radio and listen to the roadhouse & outlaw channells!

Good point, thats why so many of the singers I mentioned were from the old school. Im not a fan of todays country music either, cuz its not country. I prefer fiddles & steel guitars, but still dont mind some electric stuff mixed in properly, but todays country reminds me more of the backstreet boys. I just really hate that pop sound and McGraw, Urban, & Rascall Flats are just some to blame. Id like to see Mark CHesnutt & Dwight Yoakam kick their heads in.

Too commercial...and too many country songs sound like "same song....different lyrics"
Not hard to compose country music... any 2 year old could write a country tune.
Besides....most of the B.S. being passed off as country music is about the "cheating" man or woman.... with no mention of cowboys.
If it isn't about cowboys then it cannot be "Country Music".
Riders in the Sky....that is "Country Music"....Cowboy Mouth is "country music"...
Carrie Underwood is not...
The music she sings is commercial POP.
BTW...
Funny how they have Music Awards for Country and Rap...
But no award shows for Rock and Roll.
(Good reason to Hunt American Family Members like 20 point bucks!!!)
rock doesnt need a self imposed pat on the back...its the only constant in the music industry!besides, rock n roll fans wouldnt watch a stupid awards show anyway, they are to busy having a life!!

Best, most unique, and most talend would have to be Henry Paul. He's fronted Blackhawk for the last 15 years and before that the Henry Paul band and before that (and recently reformed) The Outlaws, one of Southern rock's best bands of all time. This guy doesn't get the respect he deserves and has by far one of the most unique voices in all of music.

I'm with you on that as far as Tim Mcgraw, Urban, Rascall Flatts, etc, although I wouldn't put Mark Chestnutt in the catergory of good singers. Dwight Yokam defintely talented along with so many others that today's country musice radio has tossed aside in the name of looks/sex appeal instead of real talent. I will say Rascall Flatts first two records were pretty good then everything after that of theirs was way over polished but they do put on a good live show (my wife has dragged me to 3 of them).

Alan Jackson.

The pretenders are Urban, Rascall Fa**gs, McGraw, Sally (I mean Kenny) Chesney. Soon, they'll all be coming out (literally) with their own line of women's clothes and accessories.
