forget the fox people, I'm waiting for a response from a liberal that screamed like a banshee for defense cuts while Bush was in office, but now can't seem to remember what they were screaming about now that a liberal is responsible for security.
The Tea Party folks and a great many conservatives continue to say there are areas of the military that can be looked into, such as the amount of soldiers currently deployed to Germany, or spending billions on more attack planes as an example. No one is suggesting we yank the flack jackets off our soldiers or stop feeding them. No one is suggesting we immediately pull the plug on the wars we are involved in like the anti-war leftists pitched a tantrum over while Bush was POTUS.
Seems a reasonable, less ridiculous, demand to look into over-the-top defense spending from the Tea Party people would bring about a favorable response from liberals. But no. Reason evidently doesn't penetrate the rigid mindset of the "TeaBagger"-hating, party-first left.
How about this, no collection of social securety checks if you move out of the country after you retire, or any time..
save money? yes, no?

you are avoiding why hasn't Obama fixed some of that, and why isn't the media hammering him about it.as well as gas prices.
help the poor, lolzzzzzzzzzzzz
i represented a major corporation which was part of china's manufacturing rampup in 1997. that was a LONG time ago. it has been developing for a long time, and the damage is now done. with all that investment we shared with the chinese, btw, how on earth could any one recall it? the chinese wouldn't stand for it and neither would the corporations. how would you do it? it won't happen. we won't get it back. we're going to have to think of something else to do with the "surplus population."

It's a fact. I can't provide the link, because it was in the GR Press that was in actual press form. You know that little thing that is called actually "paying for something for news." Believe me I looked on Mlive to provide the link. They don't provide all on line. Bachman wasn't the only one, but that was the one that stood out to me as she ran on the tea party platform. She wouldn't even provide a comment. The jist of the article was that many of our politicians do not want to be on the appropriations committee as they will be the ones that have to be the ones to do the cutting, and no politican wants to do that.

No darling it wasn't on Mlive. GR Press does not post everything on Mlive. They do it to keep thier subscribers. But then again if you knew anything about business you would know that.

It's not that simple, the real question is,, why have our companies moved away, local jobs, and yet the savior "Obama" will fix the unfair trade.!
the outsourcing is a major part of the problem. but that's just the tip of the iceburg

yes, it's very simple. jobs go to china, malaysia, vietnam, mexico, ad nauseum because americans refuse to work for ten cents an hour. would you work for ten cents an hour? i'll concede one part of your implicit argument: people willing to work for ten cents is definitely a union buster. hahaha.
btw, do you know what happens when a corporation can cut its labor expense by 90%, all the while not paying any taxes in america? it really improves net margin and ceo/coo/cfo bonuses;);)
Ain't that the truth!

that liberal became a conservative. but a different KIND of conservative

notice the difference between the neo-cons and the tea party. the neo-cons focused on supporting war, even at the expense of the budget and the tax-payer. the tea party, on the other hand, r more likely 2 c certain military actions as a waste of tax-dollars, just like the liberals of a few years ago

Maybe you should read a little deeper in the article to find out why they declined the appropriations committee? Nah, that wouldn't fit in with your agenda of hating the Republicans. What a hypocritical fool you are!

It was in the GR Press but it is not posted on Mlive. The point is though, why are these tea bag politicians passing up the opportunity to decide what gets cut? My guess is they want the image of a spending cutter but they don't want to have to own up to the details of what gets cut.

Actually, according to the article that Sassy finally posted, it is because they could not serve on 2 major committees, so they stayed with the one they were first on. Imagine that! Nothing nefarious or underhanded about it, now it gives some of the freshmen the opportunity to make a name for themselves...gee, gotta hate that, don't ya????
