Rather sucks having to drive on a sheet of frickin ice or get spackled to death by a salt truck, to say nothing of the nut-crunching potholes, but this Winter was shaping up to be light on snow at a time when the lake levels could really use it. I don't mind the snow, but could do without the hurricane-force winds!

I know....i lived with it for years....in fact one of the reasons i tell friends here, that our economy locally has such an edge....is that people eventually grow outta the fascination with the 4 seasons, and especially when you get older, cold weather really bothers you.....i do miss autumn, though....

Where do you live now? Obviously somewhere warm year round.

We got exactly two days of Autumn in Michigan last year. It seemed to go from Summer to Winter and then Winter kind of crapped out for awhile. I felt totally ripped off! Hopefully someone up top makes up for it with an awesome Spring.

Side note: I can't wait for Spring Training! Taking my wife to Lakeland to catch a Tiger's preseason game for the first time. It'll probably snow that day!!:)

Unfortunately, I don't think this latest round of snow showers is going to help the drought, or the lake levels.

Three years ago, our neighor's 4' tall split rail fence was completely buried. This year, the snow has never reached the bottom rail which is about one foot off the ground. What snow we have been seeing is lake effect which only lowers the lake levels even more.

Years ago, the jet stream winds during the winter typically ran along to lower Ohio River basin. Right now, it shows a dip in the plains and then heads north through Wisconsin, which is a more late spring like pattern. Unless the jet stream moves further to the east, Michigan is going to get cut off from the majority of any gulf moisture these storms can bring up to this part of the country.

There's going to be a lot of very unhappy boaters on the great lakes this coming summer.

To say nothing of the people who bought homes on lakes like Spring Lake and now can't even dock their boats. That would suck.

I will likely be attacked for this.....but, with the tremendous amount of pollution being pr4oduced right now, by China...I'm wondering if it just might be effecting that jet stream, much like the Pacific ocean temperatures and flow have a huge effect on our storms and hurricanes?

Okay, Great Lakes and Connecting Waters.

Have you seen the petition going around about what the Corp of Engineers has done with dredging on the St Clair River?

Just saw a video on comcast homepage, about leaked emails, within Walmart bigshots, claiming business has dropped off drastically.....Maybe with China caught hacking into our computers, people are beginning to want to stop buying shoddy chinese crap at Walmart.....Imagine if Walmart and Target started a campaign, where they slowly replaced everything, with USA made?
