The story was so bizarre to begin with - but I'm glad to see something being done to the criminal who ultimately, though not intentionally, is responsible for the man's death. May justice be served for a senseless crime and death.

It goes to show that the suspect got more than he bargained for. He probably thought he do the criminal activity but he did not think about "what happens if I get caught?" I doubt he'll try robbery again.

i think you're right khillard, he looks like a smart guy who has learned from his mistakes in the past...probably be rehabilitated by the state prison system and return to society as a productive part of it rather than continuing his criminal behavior. yep he looks like a bright outstanding young man with a future ahead of him.

"He probably thought he do the criminal activity but he did not think about "what happens if I get caught?"

I think its a safe assumption that most criminal minds think that way.

Anyone with half a brain should know just from watching the news that odd are you will get caught. Might not be today or tomorrow, but you will get caught.

How unfortunate that an innocent victim had to lose his life because some common criminal was trying to get something for nothing. He should be faceing a more severe charge than involuntary manslaughter in my opinion..

Gina, I'm very sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad to suicide when I was nine months old - he quit on me. Be glad for the fact that you had him and knew him - I would give anything to just have five minutes with my dad...but that can't happen. Your dad died being a hero - he was stopping a felony in progress and exercising his right to use a weapon. Justice will be handed out...you'll see. I'm very sorry for your loss, but God chose to bring him home and you have a right to be thankful for him, and proud at the same time. May God be with you in your time of grief, your dad is hero in more ways that one and I wish you well.

My condolences to the family. I am glad that they are charging him with that, its just terrible the poor victim lost more then just the items he had worked hard for to have. He and his family lost something more precious then the criminal will probably ever have.

not there is more to the story then that. Joe was 64, 5 foot 4, the thief was 38 and over 6 foot. There was a struggle the guy would not leave when Joe asked him to..... So that smart comment was uncalled for!!!!!

He's going to be on social security by the time he's free again, then again, he'll most likely try stealing from fellow prisoners and get his neck broke before he's freed again.
