People used to always ask me this when I worked in a plastics plant in the summer we could us fans but couldn't open doors or windows. It was like the surface of the sun in there sometimes.

I always feel sorry for the person - forced to wear a chicken costume and hold a sign up -to advertise a local business. There they are- standing next to the highway, looking like they are ready to melt.

LOL ... I knew someone who worked as a character at Disney World in the Summers. She said despite the little fans the costumes came with she'd routinely lose 3-5 pounds on really hot days. She'd have to pamper all these kids while really she just wanted to grab their sno-cones!

I pity the road crew & construction people like roofers! Can you imagine the heat? Last summer I drove past an asphalt truck that was pouring tar & these guys were spreading it around when it was like 85 out!! Couldnt pay me enough to that that work. I would pass out! Working in a beverage comp wasnt nice either. Long sleeves, jeans, hairnet, & people fighting over the fans!

Isn't it funny. We complain about the heat in the summer and complain about the cold in the winter.

I prefer the hot weather. I don't have to shovel it and my gas bill is low. Too bad we can't can this heat and save it for January.

You are right about the complaints, but I have to go the other way. In the cold I can keep on putting on more layers I can only stip down so far at work in the heat with out causing comment!

My husband works in seal coating. Yesterday he put in over a 13 hour day. When he gets home he's pretty much wrecked. I almost feel guilty working in an air conditioned office all day.

"Earl & Junior"

Hey Junior, jest how hot is it?

Oh Earl, it is hotter than a half f--k-d female fox in a forrest fire on the fourth of July.

That's hot Junior.

Reminds me of Gary Larson, Far Side Cartoon. A really nerdy looking guy in hell asks the guy next to him "Hot Enough for ya?". The caption read "Nerds in Hell"...

I love warm weather. Because, I don't have to keep throwing wood in the woodstove! I just hope that everyone who has a job working outside, takes the time to drink lots and lots of water.

Hmmm. I remember walking up to the bank when it was 9 degrees outside and ice all over everything. So yes, I like this now. it might be nice if we could sleep a little better with this heat, but we'll survive. ( we is my cat and me-he volunteers to spend most of the day in the computer room which is AC'ed. good kitty)
