Yet the oil companies keep posting record profits...oh, and they are also whining that they still need government subsidies that are given to them. So not only are we paying almost 4 bucks for a gallon of gas, our tax dollars are also paying government subsidies to the robber barons.

I left home this morning and saw at Speedway the price is 3.89, and said to myself "oh boy"! Luckily the price at my babysitter house was at 3.59 still, Yeah! So I topped off my tank, and was the last customer to get it at that price! 15 bucks for 4 gallons is crazy!

Where do you think the RISE in crime and the RISE in job losses all start.. HMMM maybe the RISE in gas prices. This is just crazy. When will the government figure this out. If they would just set gas prices to a comfortable price where people could still afford to go to work maybe all the other RISES would go down. Not much we can all do about it....it is something we have to have. But sad to say it is only going to RISE and get worse. Good luck my fellow AMERICANS !

Just food or gas for thought, the federal or state gas tax must not be postpone or cut, I know it sounds great and necessary. It would just increase demand and would allow the oil companies to raise it anyway.
Not to mention the shortfall in the amount available for roads, and other programs that need these taxes. We would be paying for it in the long run, I know I hate this prices but I see no solution except to produce alternative fuel, not ethanol, maybe nuclear, increase coal, wind, solar along this line.
Not to mention, change our life style, more then one person in a car, smaller cars, and less driving for short trips.
Please be kind, I am only suggesting.

I heard on HeadlineNews yesterday that based on 1976 dollars gas is cheaper today than it was then. So there, you folks under 32 don't know what real pain is yet.

I live in Muskegon and I can' t understand why the cost of living is gowing up when our pay is still the same. For example gas prices and cigarettes electricity, natural gas, and etc. I believe thatwe as americans should protest of all these price changes and expect higher pay. I am married and have an 8 mos. old child and I do work and still find it very hard to go to the grocery store or to doctor' s appointments.

Please e-mail me at iceman_792001@yahoo.com for some possible changes we can make....

I hope gas goes up to the point where people decide to slow down a bit and quit riding my a$$ when I'm driving the speed limit.

There is NO reason why our prices should be higher here than in other areas of the state or different drastically from other states (other than perhaps Calif.)
We need to start asking WHY local distributors are taking high profits.

But at 8% margin. Most companies can't survive at that margin. It all goes to our falling dollar, India and China increase usage, and silly speculators. Shell and Mobile are not the problem. Liberals who do not allow our oil independence are the problem

A lifestyle change is what it is going to take to get prices back down I'm afraid. Supply and demand. We don't demand it they will drop their prices to get us to buy it.

It seems like one big snowball and as nice as it would be to point the fingers at the government, oil companies and everyone else it really does come down to us.

We do need it but we don't need it to run down to the corner for the little things. And if we walked or rode our bikes we would also make ourselves healthier and maybe even be able to cut down on our health expenses. In a perfect world.

Hang in there everyone. Life seemed so much simplier before autos.

I remember the 1976 gas crisis - gas was not way up in price like it is now. It was about $1.36/gallon, but there wasn't much gas back then. I had a big car - a huge old Buick and I waited in a line for a half hour to get the only gas available - mid-grade, or whatever they called it back then. If I recall correctly, we were only allowed to get 15 gallons at a time, too.

I fear if this does not stop, gas rationing will start - and then that will cause problems too because it won't be enough per car/per person or however they would do it. What a mess!

Just a tip: If possible, don't let your tank go below 3/4 tank - then it won't kill your wallet as much when you fill back up.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could tell our employer that we want to be paid $12 per hour today, and tomorrow $12.50, and next weeek $15. or whatever your current rate of pay is. Change my rate every Wednesday....Increase my wage every week by 6%...

Oh wait, the Pres. would step in and put a stop to that right a way..
