Exactly why I'd never want to be a landlord. My mother in law has rental properties and she's gotten taken over and over. Tenants not paying the utilities, not following the rules she set down, not paying rent, etc. When she'd finally get tired of waiting she'd file to have them evicted. That's like asking a tenant to destroy the property. I was a tenant for many years and I always left the place in better shape than it was when I moved in. I just don't understand people anymore.

I couldn't locate Mike Anderson or One Step Realty on the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors website - www.grar.com . What's the deal with that?

I've been a landlord or property manager for over 5 years. Over 1500 units. Less than 10% of tenants are bad. I feel sorry for these people. I also feel sorry for the landlord that is taking rent money and not paying the mortgage leaving tenants homeless. Unfortunatly, there will be more of this happening.

HEY!
the squatters deserve a place to live too!! Those mean old rich people in New Hampshire (they must be rich if they can live there and own a house here) should just leave them alone and let them live there. They probably really need the house!
Arent we all learning that it is patriotic to give? Arent we all being told that we have to do our part to help?

We lost our house to foreclosure because of Mike Anderson and One Step Realty. This was 7 years ago. Am glad he finally got caught.

First, Michael Anderson is not a Realtor. He is not a member of the local Association of Realtors (GRAR) Therefore, the trademarked term Realtor should not be used here. However, you can still be an Real Estate Agent or Real Estate Broker (licensed by the state) and not be a board member fo your local association.
Second I failed to find a Michael Anderson or One Step Realty as a licensed agent or Broker on the Michigan.gov website's verify a license page.
If he is indeed acting as and telling customers he is a broker or Realtor, he is committing a crime in and of itself right there.

Consumers should be aware that all licensed agents and brokers are required by the state to carry a pocket card verifying their license should a customer wish to confirm it. I feel sorry for these people, but they clearly did ask to verify a license before signing up with this guy.

One Step Realty and Michael Anderson has been renting out peoples homes and vacant homes that he illegal re-keys for many years. He always keeps the rent and lets the homes go into foreclosure. He is notorious for letting renters get stuck in high paying leases until the bank shows up and asks them to leave. Someone should really look into him further. He was punished and banned from GRAR for a while.

I know what you mean there was a older that past away that lived by me now the bank owns it and rents it out. it took less then 6 month for the tenants to destroy the house and yard with thier pit bulls which I had to call the cops on almsot daily last summer becuase they got lose and was wander the hood.

I very much see the sarcasm and unfortunatly it is so very true that everyone now days seems to want.. no.. expect something for nothing..but it obviously isn't just tenants.. it would be the Michael Andersons and Marshall Redders of the world as well.I'm not sure but I'd wager that it's more difficult to stand on a street corner with a cardboard sign in the cold than it is to have someone go change the locks on someone else's home and collect a rent check and never turn around and pay the mortgage.
Now, that said,I've been a home owner , a mobile home owner and now a renter for 8 years and my home is kept up beautifuly. While it's true that alot of times renters simply do not have pride of home ownership there are those of us who do understand that even though it is not "mine" it is still "my" home, it's where I live and a reflection on me and my family. So please, remember that in your rantings and do not just "group" us all together because I have seen plenty of "homeowners" who's homes and yards look like...well.. lets just say pride of homeownership just isn't top on their list!And let's remember to attack the real problem here,One Step Realty & Michael Anderson. Not the renters.

Is not Mike Anderson the same man that owns Arbor Mortage. He is also the brother to the Anderson that is up for charges of trying to molest a woman, at the car lot he and his brother own. I think it is worht looking into.
