Perry is partly to blame. Arizona tried to control immigration there and was sued by the feds.
Chamber of Commerce one of the arms of the GOPhers have been lobbying big time for weak immigration. And guess who the Chamber has been giving lots and lots of money to over the last 3 decades?

Both sides of politicians are for weak immigration and are paid off. There is a segment of people- mostly segments of Republicans and Independents- who want lessened immigration. To me, it seems that some Republicans have very conflicting ideas on the subject. The Republicans who want lessened immigration are basically not represented in that respect by their politicians imo. There is no one to represent them.

If you're saying that the Feds are responsible for pushing weak immigration enforcement, that may be true but look who the GOPhers, financed by big business, strutted out there as a choice for president in the 2012 primaries. LOL. The country found out what a total waste of space he is. As for Texans, they only have him to blame for the state going Blue by 2016. Look at Perry's record on the immigration issue. Pathetic.

I hate Rick Perry for numerous reasons. Yes, I also know Mitt Romney is a globalist. The Dems and Reps are all globalists and actually being a waste of space would be an improvement.

The Chamber of Commerce and other business lobbying groups have been doing demographic studies for years to predict where the country is headed in terms of household spending by race and they determined 30-40 years ago that it was going non-white; that European non-whites would eventually be a minority and the Hispanic (non-white) would overtake the European white ethnic classes as the largest household spending group in the U.S. sometime in the late 1990s. Their predictions were right. This has happened. Its reality.

What gets me is that there were no lobbying groups against it- not even regarding population growth over all, environmentalists, etc.
Even cokehead, drunk, murderer Ted Kennedy who pushed the 1965 increased immigration bill said that the demographics wouldn't change. But then you can't trust a cokehead, drunk, murderer or any other US politicians.

Good old cokehead, drunk, lying murderer Ted Kennedy on the 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act:

"Our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same. Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset. Contrary to the charges in some quarters, the bill will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia -- and in the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think."

"The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs"

"No immigrant visa will be issued to a person who is likely to become a public charge."

You seem to want to pin it heavy on Ted Kennedy. Do you really think Ted had that much influence over that issue?

He had a huge role in the Hart-Cellar Immigration bill and that was a watershed moment in massive legal immigration that has escalated up to now. Before that we had extremely low immigration.
Though several things have led up to the massive illegal immigration mess we have- NAFTA was a huge factor in making the lives of Mexicans much worse in Mexico, giving incentive to come here- with more feeling they had little choice. It's always been a problem though- there were just more politicians that used to fight against it- and I mean really fight it- and interestingly the ones who did- pre 1980- seems to have been Democrats. Now, no Democrats do. Of course there have been two amnesties for illegals. The first was Reagan- who said along with that amnesty there would be much tighter controls on the border- but, no. Now we have this Obama amnesty. And you are correct about the Chamber of Commerse and such lobbying groups. I have read about it. We don't have a southern border and haven't in quite some time.

Here again you consistently make your usual ERROR of omission.
Where is corporate power in all this? Politicains want this or that immigration policy... nothing about employers. Politicians are “globalists”, and that has nothing to do with corporations?
This is so typical of the idiotic white-right screed... oh those nasty globalists and immigrants boo hoo... but the corporations who run the world and are engineering this for their benefit, you ignore.
Your rap is 100% worthless.
Good gaaaaawd. I agree with the man above that the Chamber of Commerce and other lobbying groups play a role. It goes without saying that NAFTA was passed for corporate interests, which I mention. You are stuck on one WORD.

Also, on another post on THIS THREAD- I wrote that Texas had a population of 11 million in 1970 with LOTS OF JOBS AND INDUSTRY, and in 2010 the population was close to 25 million and jobs/industries had MOVED AWAY. Anyone with a brain could understand that I mean corporations moving jobs out of the nation.
