They should send them both to jail for a month. Give them a taste of what's coming if they continue to act like ignorant selfish punks.

More people like that we don't need.

Two words: Hate Crime.

These girls even admitted it? They are in for a rude awakening. Unfortunately, I graduated from the same school.

I'm surprised wayland is doing something about this. When I got beat up the kids said it was because I was a freak and I was told to not dress like a freak.

I'm glad they are doing something. No, I wouldn't want anyone pushing their beliefs on me but when stuff like that happens I WALK AWAY or IGNORE THEM. That's what these girls should have done. It sounds like they planned it out and I hope that they get in trouble so they realize they can't beat someone up for having different "views" then them. Besides, ganging up on her isn't fair either.

What a joke...I don’t condone what these girls did but come on; this happens everyday of the year at high schools all over the place. What no live report…BREAKING NEWS!!! CAT FIGHT ERUPTS IN WAYLAND. I was there; the girl did not receive any medical attention from EMS. Get your facts right before you print stories. Don't worry Woodtv-8 its a warm day, I'm sure their will be another shooting to cover in GR tonight.

I am very glad I send my kids to private school. The Wayland Schools are joke. Our neighborhood kids from Wayland only make it into 3rd tier colleges.

im a freshmen at wayland union school.
you say that she is a gay rights activist who tried to impress her beliefs on the 2 suspects.
yes this is true she may have done this
but that is not what caused the fight.
the day before the fight broke out, the victim was in a class with one of the suspects, and out of no where
the victim called the suspect a "stupid slut"
so the suspect was offended and said something back i dont know what exactly she said.
but the teacher just told them to stop and ignored it.
and this is not the first time the victim has attacked someone like this.
last trimester, i was in the same class as her.
and she called me very inapropriate names.
and then she told me that i was lucky i was in class
or else she would have "beaten my ass into the ground" were her exact words
so in defense i responded with "you wouldnt touch me, and you are the one who is lucky"
what else was i to say?
so i reported this to the office and they did nothing
i have heard of people saying that the victim has said these things to people before.
i am not supporting what the suspects did
and i am not saying that the victim deserved it.
it was wrong how they handled it
but if the office would have done something about the way she was acting
when the 3+ students went to them and reported her.
maybe this would not have happened
thanks for reading this
and please correct your story.

I hope your children do not go to a Christian school because what you just said is not very Christ-like!!!

I go to Wayland Highschool, I'm a freshmen, and your story isn't completely correct.
Carol is a gay rights activist, yes. This it isn't the first time Carol has said something mean like this. We were sitting in pre-physics 4th hour when Carol called Crystal a vicious name in class. Ms. Cantwell, the physics teacher, just said "hey." After that Crystal reacted to what Carol had said and talked back to her also. Ms. Cantwell told them to let it go and stop and they did after a few seconds. This happened on the 9th.
The whole pre-physics class was a witness of this.
Crystal was really mad about the whole situation, and her and a friend decided to fight Carol on the 10th. I don't support how they dealed with the situation and your right, Carol didn't know it was going to happen.
This was during 4th hour and we were all cleaning out our lockers.
My friend Kaitlyn and I were in the gym locker room while it happened but there were a lot of kids crowded around because it was locker cleanout for freshmen, and the fight was in the freshmen hallway. People weren't nessecarily aware but it happened around a lot of the students.
I think that Carol should also have some kind of punishment for calling Crystal and a few others vicious names. My friend Jessica also was called a vicious name by Carol last trimester and the school never did anything about it. If the victim would have been punished earlier in the year then this may not have happened. Carol also needed some kind of punishment along with Crystal and Sydnee, the other suspect.
Thank you for your time in reading this,
Cassie Mulder
