Must be nice to feel like you can take the law into your own hands, and pretend to be law enforcement, judge and jury.

As far as I'm concerned they should have a parade and give him a medal, but I fear that "Old Dead Eye Dick" is in for some legal trouble. If not legal, civil because you can bet your last dollar those low life's family have already hired attorneys to make them feel better about the lose of their thieving departed relatives.

That is the issue here Mic. The crooks had entered a neighbor’s home. His life was never in danger, nor would a reasonable person be in fear for their safety. Legally, how can you justify kill to protect another’s property? Then there is this, in many states you cannot use deadly force to protect property. Unless the neighbor was home, the prosecutor has a strong case against him and an even stronger case in a civil court. I still say, "Bully" for him. Two less thugs on the street.

It's nice to see a positive story like this in the news. We can only hope he does not get prosecuted. Two less criminals on the street, society is better off without them.

I agree that the burglars got what they deserve if they were actually there to rob the place.

I still wonder though would Caucasians come out as forcefully in favor of the shooting if it had been an older African American killing two Caucasians pieces of trash instead of a Caucasian shooting two African Americans?

What do you say peckerwoods? Would you side with the Black man as well? Be honest. GOD is listening to and watching your sorry arses!:-)

Yes, I would side with the black man or any man that was watching criminals at work. If you want to steal, be prepared to get your arse blowed away. I think that is a good thing personally and I hope the grand jury will not indict this guy. He really should be given a medal. You black folks are so frickin' funny.. you want to act like us white folks think crime is okay as long as it's done by white folks and not black. If you believe that, you are dumb. Anyone that wants to take something that does not belong to them should be shot no matter what their color.

Lock him up and throw away the key. It makes me sick to read this. How dare this racist bastard block the rightful redistribution of property from the rich to the oppressed? Did he stop to consider their plight for one moment? NO! BECAUSE HE'S A RACIST! He should fry.

Don't be such a bleeding heart. I live near Philadelphia--the murder capital of the U.S. This shows why people who have children and treat them like property during their upbringing turn out to be tomorrow's criminals. The bottom line here is if these two low-lifes hadn't been breaking into a house, they'd still be alive today! People tend to forget what originated the defensive shooting in the first place. Again, if these two were upstanding citizens in the community, they'd still be living today.

I hate to admit it but I give two thumbs up to this guy. If these punks were not doing something that they were not supposed to be doing they would be alive today. If our laws were changed so that we have the right to protect our property, neighbors property, live etc....we wouldn't have the corruption that we have today. Maybe the next time someone in Texas wants to be big bad criminal they will think twice. How does that saying go? "Don't mess with Texas"? Good job and I hope that you have a good defense lawyer.

Actually, these two crooks were shot on the Joe Horn's property: within 15 feet of his door.
So, let's see, we have two crooks willing to break into people's houses, and now they move into the Horn's front yard - right in front of his door. So...why should Horn assume he was "Safe".
Additionally, someone please tell me why Horn should have "Retreated" - as some of you suggest? When do you stop "Retreating" - your closet? If so, then is your home really yours any more - much less your neighborhood...city...state... country?
Tome to stop "Retreating": time to grow a pair.

Curious to know what the state law reads, can one protect THEIR property with deadly force? or are their neighbor's property included in that law? Dont think the front yard excuse will fly..that almost equivalent to 2 'suspects' walking by your home and you deciding to shoot them, assuming they were thieves or not. Heck with the law and police, lets just have the C. Bronsons make the law...Vigilante style. Knowledge, I must say that is a silly question you asked, there are still some knuckleheads out there that believe O.J. Simpson is an ex Navy seal type, and was able to kill 2 people with a knife, within a 7 yard radius and just get a finger cut at 40+ years of age.

If no weapon was seen or implied, the mere presence of these two thugs in his yard is not life threatening. If though they entered the home that becomes a different issue. Can't speak as to TX, but in MI unless they had entered the home or shown a weapon this shooting would not be justifiable.
