Yeah, but the occupants of those countries killed each other in never-ending wars. We had one here you know. It would be a shame to have a repeat now wouldn't it? If people can't live together then they must separate. The only other option is to destroy one another. History gives us that lesson time and time again. Law and order hold stronger here in America than anywhere else in the world. Ever! But that wall is crumbling and faster than you think.

Ah. So YOU get to decide how "marriage" is defined and force your definition, and ONLY your definition, onto everyone else??? Sez who??
And, frankly, if your beliefs are such that they CAN be used to "poke you in the eye" (whatever the hell THAT means....), you should expect people to use them to poke you in the eye.
YOU are the one that gets to decide if people are doing that or not. If you decide your beliefs are fragile enough that the actions of other people that belief differently somehow threaten you and your beliefs, then maybe you should reconsider your beliefs, because they're not working very well for you, are they?
Looking up the definition....... Get your contract with the State then live the way you want. I don't really care what others do only when they attempt to use words incorrectly.....

Is Websters good enough for you? It certainly doesn't look to me like I'm using the word incorrectly.

mar·riage
ˈmarij/Submit
noun
noun: marriage; plural noun: marriages

1. the formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.(in some jurisdictions) a formal union between partners of the same sex.
the state of being married.

2. a combination or mixture of two or more elements.
synonyms: union, alliance, fusion, mixture, mix, blend, amalgamation, combination, merger More
antonyms: separation

So how's that? NOW what's your argument against people you don't approve of getting married? You still haven't explained to me how you get to decide who can and can't get married and why no one is asking for your permission. Why is that?

Oh!! And my husband and I DO have a "contract with the State". It's called a Marriage License and was issued by the Great State of New York! Are you saying that the State of New York doesn't know hot to use words properly??

Listen you little retarded dolt, the Civil War was about the south not liking the leveling of taxes by the north on cotton and sugarcane. GET AND EDUCATION! What I'm taking about is NOT secession but agreed-upon division. There is a difference but you're too stupid to understand it.

That's the problem here; the first thing you come up with is "what about the NFL?" Really? Is that the most important aspect in your life? Hey guys, this country is turning into an Orwellian state and we can fix it by division but hey< what about my football? Jesus Christ!

saw this today and thought of you:

Last night on The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart lambasted the Texas GOP for its recent endorsement of debunked and dangerous "ex-gay" therapy.

Stewart pulled no punches. After showing footage of crackpot psychologist and "ex-gay" proponent Joseph Nicolosi saying... that changing a gay person is merely a matter of bringing out their inner heterosexual, Stewart pointed out the absurdity of that claim.

"But [heterosexuality is] the thing [gay people] don't have in them. It's like giving a woman a C-section who's not pregnant. You won't find what you're looking for, but you will leave a scar."
He then brought up some of the abusive and disgusting "treatments" that these junk-science therapists prescribe, including electroshock therapy and having the patient put their poop in a bottle and sniff it whenever they're attracted to someone of the same sex. Stewart said Texas Republicans should take this advice to heart:

"Being gay is not a choice, but being a Texas Republican is. So my advice is the next time you feel the urge to be a Texas Republican -- to replace science textbooks with pictures of humans riding dinosaurs, or ban same-sex marriage, or put on this [plush GOP elephant hat], shit in a jar and sniff it. It won't cure you; the science proves that. But do it anyway. Hopefully it'll remind you of what assholes you're being."

Gays are grossly immature and emotionally damaged beyond repair. Why does any normal person take them seriously? Their arguments are a waste of time. They are already quite vicious to each other and will destroy themselves. I don't see why some heterosexuals waste so much time and energy denouncing the gays. Leave them alone and just ignore them and they will do their creepy behavior to themselves. Their lives don't really affect anyone else's lives.

Another opinion piece by the left. You can tell by the first paragraph in that article what the author thinks about the Tea Party which is really not a party at all, rather, they are American citizens who are concerned about government spending along with an increasingly intrusive and abusive federal government. You are obviously one of the baby citizens out there who are terrified of losing your free suck-milk from Ms. Aunt Tittie. Can you even begin to imagine what it must be like actually living self-sufficient? Have kids...Grand kids? Would you like to sit them down and explain to them that are in debt because some else spent their money before they even earned it? The Tea Party is not a political party. The Tea Party is a movement and is only going to get stronger. Better get used to it because we're not going anywhere.

No. That's not what they did.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office simply canceled the Washington Redskins' trademark. That means that while they can still use the name, if anyone else uses their name, logo, insignia, etc., those companies cannot e successfully sued for doing so probably.

The team can continue to use their name and logo, etc. for as long as they want. Plus, they're appealing it. And the fight over this has already gone on for 20 years. And so it will probably continue to do so for another 20 years at least.

Furthermore, many NFL teams have changed their names.

The Redskins WERE ORIGINALLY NAMED the Braves.

The Chicago Bears were the Staleys.

The Cardinals were the Normals

The Chiefs were the Texans

The Colts were named the Seahawks

The Jets were the Titans

The Lions were the Spartans

The Steelers were the Pirates

and the Titans were the Oilers (One of my fav teams in the late 70's and early 80's)

So not only have the Redskins changed their name before, but plenty of NFL teams have changed their names over the years, and survived.

I think the Redskins should change the team's name, and I think that going back to the old name the "Braves" is a good idea.

It's certainly not like it's never been done before.

Yeah right. It's that simple. You ever hear the term "ulterior motives"? The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office just now, after decades, decided to cancel the Redskins trademark? Nope! No sale. When a ship sinks it tends to suck down everything with it. If I could work my will I'd throw all the progressives in boxcars and roll them off the steepest cliff I could find.

I'm not judging whether The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is correct or not in it's decision.
My only point is that MANY NFL teams have changed the name of their teams over the years, so it's not such an earth-shattering thing if the Redskins change their name too. It's not that big a deal.
They could change it back to the "Braves" which was their former name.

Or, since they're in Washington, they could change it to the "Congressmen" !:)
