You're an ignorant jack.a.s.s. If you would read the facts, you would see that it wasn't his fault. It was the crest of the road along with a slow moving tractor.

Why don't you go hang yourself so we have something actually dumb to comment about.

You are a heartless SOB...nobody said anything about speed. Wonder what you would be saying if this was your son or family member. My prayers are with this family and someone like you needs some praying for also.

Not that it matters but I will point out in the article that it did quote his friend as saying he had a passion for speed and they feared that may have been what killed him.

And to those that don't think that a death close to Mother's Day will effect his mother are wrong. Any day of the year is bad to have a loss like this but when it is coupled with a holiday it does make it worse.

Matt was far from a 'hot shot on his crotch rocket'. I find that rude, and ignorant, especially because you obviously don't know him.

Matt went to my school, and was a grade ahead of me. I wouldn't have considered us friends, but friends of friends. From what I did know of him he was everything Hanson (Hackbardt) had said, and more. Never did I ever see him be anything but polite. He was a great football player, and just as good at Track. He was indeed a funny guy and was a great friend to everyone. He will definitely be missed and will be remembered by everyone as a genuinely nice guy. I wish all of his family and friends well, and I hope his girlfriend gets well soon!!!

Whether you are driving a car or riding a motorcycle, tractors can be deadly. Like hitting a semi, they are big, heavy, and have no give to them. Might as well hit a brick wall.

Wow, such a tragic event. My heart goes out to these families, and I pray the gf will be ok. But plain and simple, these crotch rockets are not for country roads, where there are people walking, farmers farming their fields, hidden residential driveways, or deer, dogs, foxes, etc crossing the roads. My husband watched a biker get killed early one morning after he was going so fast, that a deer crossed the road and the bike split it in half.

I hope this isn't the kid that has been screaming up and down our residential road doing about 90mph or more. We figured it was a kid with a new bike, as we haven't seen it before. But even my 8 year old heard him and said that he was going to get himself killed because he was going way too fast. If it was, I'm sorry, but it was bound to happen. Nice guy or not. People need to respect the bikes and the speed.

My thoughts and prayers do go out to this family.

The high performence motorcycles are death traps. I feel when people get on them they loose all sense of reality. They have the need for speed and push the limits. My son had one last summer for a short period of time. Everytime he pulled out of the driveway I would about have a heart attack until he got back home, thank God he sold it after having it for a month, one less thing to worry about.

I hope the girlfriend pulls thru. Has anyone heard how she is doing.

It was not a mistake by the younger driver. With the road like that, it sounds like it could have happened to any age.
"There's just enough of a dip that if you're on a bike you can't see anyone that's on this side of the road," says Hackbardt. "So my grandpa said that he thought he could turn, so he turned in, then all of the sudden two seconds later there Matt is."
It's such a tragic loss. I know someone who is friends with him and she's so sad. May his family and friends find strength during this time.
I'm sorry if you took my post the wrong way. There are roads like that and situations like that all over the place. I was in no way trying to judge this young man or berate his riding skills. No matter what the ride it's always sad to me to see a fellow rider lose their life, no matter what the circumstances. Those of us who ride are all brothers and sisters on the road. That's why you very often will see bikers just give each other nod or a wave as we go by each other.

I don't usually post something like this but my thoughts and prayers go out to this young man's family, I pray that his girlfriend will be able to make a full recovery, and also to remember the "Grandpa" who was driving the tractor. I can't even imagine how torn up he probably feels about this tragic accident.

Best response - The speed was only mentioned by his friends that were probably speaking from past experience. This is hearsay and not necessarily the cause.

So, letís just continue to pray for those affected. Remember, be it not for the Grace of God, it could be anyone of us instead of them.

My prayers and comfort go out to his family and friends, I was in his graduating class and was in wrestling and football with him. He was one of the best football players we had.

(To the Poster Dave:) No hes not another "hot shot" on his crotch rocket, no one knows how fast he was going when the accident happened. Shut the fuck up. Until you have solid proof that he was a "hot shot" on his crotch rocket keep your smartass comments to yourself, because ive rode on my bike with him and he wasnt ever going over the speed limit when i was with him. I doubt he did the same, even with his girlfriend on with him.

Sounds like someone with little compassion. I am a nurse and I am a compassionate person and I was very sorry to hear about this young man dying. Also, my prayers go out to the Kammers family and friends, the girlfriend who is hospitalized and to the tractor driver. It wasn't his fault he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Peace!
