Now the real terrorists’ exert themselves.
Bullying, pressuring, humiliating, embarrassing, shaming, demeaning.
It’s all there.
It’s the black Friday extortion in full regalia as retailers once more pimp the public into prostitution for the almighty dollar.
A dollar, allegedly, the public doesn’t have to waste on non-essential trappings.
Yet here they are.
Conditioned like Pavlov’s pooch to salivate, glassy-eyed at the word ‘bargain’.
People who just the day before might have had Vienna style ‘turkey’ are thronged together in meandering herds roaming the vast wastelands of commercial America.
It gives new meaning to the phrase ‘selling ourselves short’.

No one is forcing them to spend their money you idiot. Sounds to me like you just hate the free market. Maybe you'd like it better in N. Korea.

It has nothing to do with the free market or Christmas it is praying on some peoples basic instincts. IMO only a fool would put themselves through this type of activity. I wouldn't stand in line to shake the hand of god let alone to buy some trinket.

As folks have pointed out, no one is forcing people to buy stuff. What boboling's real point here is that the government should step in, make Black Friday, sodas, twinkles and other things illegal to protect people from themselves. It's one of the basic beliefs of the left; that the role of government is to protect the (stupid) people from themselves and let the (smarter) liberals take care of the rest of us.

It's why the majority voted for Obama. They either want to be taken care of or they believe they are superior and should be looking after the masses. It's certainly what the D's in government believe, from the President down to the local representative.

Exactly! I don't need someone to hold my hand as I cross the street. Those who willingly surrender will be slaves for life. F**k slavery!

my dear detractors; i apparently failed to adequately elucidate my point; which is ...
that the so-called gloom and doom about the economic state of our citizenry must be sheer propaganda, for how could so many destitute people even afford the gas money for such extravagant shopping.
I've absolutely nothing against free enterprise, capitalism or other such practices and abhor any form of government intercession at any level.
it's just the dramatic contrast between what is reported and evidently what is real.
Have a Merry, Happy, or whatever!

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Virgo

Matters of the heart take an unexpected turn today. You might be strongly attracted to someone you've never looked at twice until now, or you could fall for someone who's much older or younger than you. If you're already involved in a relationship, either you or your partner will want to make it more exciting and spontaneous. Is this a suggestion that will go down well?
