Good article in Bloomberg.com today under the politics heading. GM pension promises are garbage when GM goes into bankruptcy. Pensions will be Cut.

Wouldn't it be nice if there were JOBS being created in Washington and not loans?

Right now, the best the government can do is keep suppliers from failing. Protecting the few jobs that are left. Job creation is not an overnight process. However, I feel little hope for any real job creation in this sector, because it's a vicious circle. There are no cars being sold, so less supply is needed, so more layoffs, so less people can afford cars. I'm not sure the auto industry and it's suppliers can take much more. Worse yet will be if GM or Chrysler outright go out of business at some point, the ripple affect into the communities they support will be devestating.

I knew someone who worked there and that place was big time conservative republican. How can they take government handouts while at the same time preach hate against entitlement programs? Shamefull...

Washington DOESN'T create jobs. They produce nothing.

They grow Government, regulations, and paper pushers.

People have to quit looking to Washington for the answers. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, except throw money at troubled areas. THAT is their solution.
