The boy should definatly go to the gradparents. Why the heck would you want the boy to be exposed to a lifestyle that could alimatly affect him in a negative way for the rest of his life. His dad murdered his mom...what kind of example does that set.

"Girlfriend"????? If this is the case, why is this an issue?

I believe it was a stepmother not a girlfriend, but still he should be placed with his grandparents in Michigan.

I pray the courts will give custody to the grandparents, this is a girlfriend, the boy needs to be with his family.

His grandparent's are blood relative. I don't think a judge in this state would hand him over to someone that ISN'T blood related. Unless his grandparents have a felony record or something like that...I expect to see them gain custody. Or atleast I hope they do.

I would really hope he goes to the grandparents! But, having experience with friend of the court, you would be AMAZED at what they consider "the best interest of the child"!!!

Oh I agree! CPS can be quite biased sometimes. I guess I don't understand why it is even an issue. The child should be with blood relatives.

Why would anyone want to deny their child the contact with grandparents? Why is Tim Dawson trying so hard to keep him away from family, including his own brother? And what makes the girlfriend think she has the right to custody?

I agree. This shouldn't even be an issue. To tie up the courts with something like this is a total waste of time and money. Bring the kid back to his grandparents where he belongs!

IF ALEXANDER WAS IN MICHIGAN THE GRANDPARENTS WOULD GET CUSTODY. BUT IN TEXAS ALEX ONLY HAD TO LIVE WITH HER FOR SIX MONTH IN ORDER FOR HER TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT FOR CUSTODY. HOPEFULLY THE JUDGE IN TEXAS HAS KIDS OR GRAND KIDS AND DOES THE RIGHT THING. I KNOW JULIA AND THIS IS WHAT SHE WOULD HAVE WANTED BOTH HER BOYS TO BE TOGETHER AND WITH HER PARENTS. WHAT KIND OF GIRL IS THIS WOMEN ANYWAYS WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO IS ACCUSED OF MURDERING HIS WIFE APPARENTLY SHE'S NOT STABLE.

Tim should be a man and tell his "wife" that she should bring the boy back to Michigan and give him to the grandparents. But this is him still trying to have the "upperhand".

There is a bunch of legal process' that has to be done in order for the grandparents to get custody. They will get custody eventually, it will just take some time though.

They should be able to have him. They'll love him more and it will let them have some small part of her to keep with them. The girlfriend shouldn't have any rights at all.

Yes, he should but you must remember he has lied to her for 2 years and has her afraid that he will be in harms way and she has been his mother for 2 years and she loves him very much. The entire family loves and treats him as their own because he has been theirs. It will be very hard when this is all over; for everyone. Especially Alex.

So why doesn't she take a trip and bring Alex to Michigan and get to know the families? Maybe then she can get the other side of the story and allow Alex to see his family at the same time?

The girlfriend isn't a blood relative either.

Alex is with people that he knowes and should stay there. What happened to thinking of Alex's welfare? Aparently he really did not know these grandparents very well before and know he should not have to go live with strangers.

They're not strangers...they're his grandparents. Also, his not knowing them well is not his fault- that is his DAD'S fault...ya know, the one that murdered his mother and then moved to Texas!! He BELONGS with his grandparents.
