Well, I like Christmas music, mainly the traditional stuff, not the "Jingle Bell Rock" variety, but this Christmas music on Nov 1st is just irritating as it seems to just contributes to the cheapening of the holiday that dilutes it into an two-month festival of cliches and consumerism.

Christmas cannot come soon enough or stay long enough. The best of gifts are not purchased in a store. Celebrate! He is born!

Too much Christmas music for too long saturates the atmosphere, and I think it takes away from a celebration of the Christmas spirit.

Christmas, shmistmas it's all about the money folks.
what ever it takes to separate you from your filthy lucre including wringing in the holidays with the same old sentimental schtick.
might as well play it 24/7 while you can, cause i believe that this holiday will fall off the federal observance calendar before obama's second term is up.
i say fire'em up right after july 4!

Maybe it was the first time I noticed, but they started playing Christmas music - early after 9/11.
At that time, I listened to it and it was a good reminder that life does go on... and it helped raise people's spirits.
I think they should wait until Thanksgiving Day. I put my tree up that weekend.

The radio stations start playing it early because people want it. They are trying to make money. If there was no demand for it, they wouldn't play it.
It's easy. If you are a Humbugger, don't listen to it.
We are all going to hear to it everywhere we go anyway. It's on in every store.
On another front, say "Merry Christmas," not "Happy Holidays." We don't need to be politically correct.

We don't need to be politically correct. You really think the radio stations don't decide what people want, rather than responding to demand? On the note of being politically correct to the point of ridiculousness, I am going to boycott all businesses that send a card saying "Season's Greetings" rather than anything meaningful. At least Happy Holidays is functional language.

Did somebody say Kittens? Personally, I'm ready for Christmas the minute the door hits the last little Halloween kiddie fairy in the butt. I LOVE the season, and my favorite part is the build up to it all. Presents have been bought, and yesterday I saw my first load of Christmas trees being shipped. If my husband would let me, I'd have lights out and the tree up already! lol, but alas I'll wait another 2 weeks so I don't look too crazy....
