Hello all,

I am creating this post to hopefully get some advice or direction on what I am doing wrong...

For quite awhile now I have been a stay at home mom. My husband is active duty army and so even before the children we have moved around quite a bit.

I am currently back here in my hometown while he is deployed again for the 3rd time. A job would not only help us financially but I know it would help me with the lull of him being gone.

I feel like I have a lot to offer but am not being given a chance. I have applied for various jobs in the area that I know I am qualified for and would be a great fit but no one is biting.

Any suggestions?

Go to a temp agency and start working for a variety of companies. That way you get to show your skills and see what the company is like before you commit.

I'm looking for something part time just to get me out of the house. If you hear of anything put it on here and I will go and put my app in. Thanks.

You bet. What kind of work are you looking for? Where you live will make a difference where you look as well. Do you have like nurses training or something that would help in the search.

Grab anything, even PT. As soon as you get out there hopefully a little networking will start & get you moving to where you want to be. I think more jobs are filled by networking than anyother way.

Yes that is a good idea... networking helped me get jobs in the past, but that was when I was current in the job force... I have been out of the loop for awhile. Old contacts are no longer in the area, so I will have to start over. Thanks Derby and Granny for the suggestions! I will let you know what comes of it.

They {Kelley Services} have been calling and e-mailing looking for help for several weeks--

They are located here:

The people they use for the pre-employment drug screen are in the same complex.

Good Luck!

What types of work have you done before and what skill sets do you have?

Very good question, wish I would have thought of that.

You are very at ease in your writing within these posts. Maybe you should consider opening your own forum. The topics would be under your control and the revenue would be made through ads such as "Adsense".

I have a website of my own ( herbalindex.com ), but, your online skills may warrant the development of a "discussion board" that you moderate. I think that you would enjoy doing it, and might see an income as a result.
