That has been going on for quite some time. They increase it in larger amounts now and take longer to ease it back down, which is the only difference from what they were doing before. Quite a few years ago, the price of gasoline was based on the cost of manufacturing it, tempered by competition. Now, for many years, it has been a commodity with the price based on what commodity traders are hopeful will give them a large profit.

Must be they are trying to catch the color tour trade this weekend. Keep it lower on Friday so people leave and make it higher when they come back and need to fill up

Open up a gas station and sell gas for a dollar less than everyone else if you're not happy with supply and demand business philosophies. Better yet, let's create a gas station that bases prices on peoples' incomes, or social status, or special interests. People who make more than $250k can afford to 100$ a gallon while the unemployed can get it for free.

Why $250K? Bobby says he makes "close to $90K a year" at his "new" job...he can afford to pay more than the unemployed or the underemployed, let him bear the brunt.

WTF is wrong with you people? What happened to all the teabagger whining about gov't intrusion against businesses?

The price of gas is just like the cost of bread, or the cost of health insurance. Don't you know that when the price of gas goes up by this much that someone is making money, it's the Great American Dream. Hopefully the price of bread will go to $5 per/loaf as it will prove that a rich business owner is making a profit. And those profits shouldn't be taxed!

Trying to quote the teabagger's line:

WTF is wrong with you socialists, Bob? Cheap gas isn't a constitutional right. Neither is bread or health insurance. Heaven forbid someone turn a profit with "Robin Bob" around! LOL

Gas companies provide a service we all need. If you don't approve of their methods then start your own. You can dole out fuel in whatever socialist style you choose - that is until you run out of money, which would happen well before you pumped your first gallon.

That high paying executive engineering job he landed probably includes a company car, and a gas card.

Actually, it isn't an executive position, but a working one. I deal with installation and repair of the company's machinery and dies.

And I really hate to break it to you, but I don't have a company car and gas card. It's a truck, and a regular card for gas, travel, and per/diem.

So does 7-11 offer you a discount on anything?

I say raise price to $50.00 a gallon, because I want to pop this big zit called global warming.

If that is too much, then start drilling for more oil, and disban these stupid eco creeps once and for all.

but you people take it up the azz, and never complain,

Gas should be about $1.20 to $1.50 a gallon.

Executives don't work? That's new to me. Must be why Obama, our Executive in Chief can't get much of anything productive done.
