This was a bad mistake by the officer and the charges sound good to me. Police can't just randomly shoot unarmed people, whether they feel threatened or not. There has to be the reprecutions for such carelessness. If not, system designed to protect the people could disappear over time into a pure your guilty no matter what, no judge/jury system. Police are people too and every officer in he state will be taking notice of the case as it proceeds. They are out there to make a living, protect people and come home to thier families. Not do time and get a record themselves because they are trigger happy. If the case proceeds and he's convicted, it may make a few officers look closer at what they do to. If he is found innocent, it opens the door wider for officers to shoot innocent unarmed people just on a hunch they may have a weopon or be up to no good.

I would like to hear why the police where in there with all their guns out anyway....I am asuming that when they did their "undercover" buys that the "suspect" was armed to the teeth, so they where very prepared for trouble. Turns out so far just a kid going to college who made a poor choice.....and the police compounded the problem

I hope that AS SHOLE dies in prison for putting the deputy in a bad position. Take your ILLEGAL drugs and DIE!!!
Just looking for a response or attention? Just to let you know I am enjoying my "legal" marijuana now thanks to the MI medical mari. law. Tons and tons of people will be smoking now. So many, even if the cops are called due to a complaint of the smell, they won't know who is legally able to sell or not. Get used to it people, pot is here to stay. Just stick to your alcohol.... I mean, there is no bad consequences with drinking since it's legal right?

I did. I think a lot of people did. Right from the start the cops said that Copp was cooperating and never gave the cops a struggle.

Misdemeaner at best. The amount they found doesn't constitute distribution. Im sure hell get a ticket. He should. But im sure in light of this news the cops will make it all go away.

Wont matter though. They're still going to get their asses sued off.
