I was surprised to read the Mom didn't know she was pregnant- how does that happen?

But I'm really happy to hear everything turned out fine! Congratulations to Mom and Dad and kudos to the Montcalm dispatcher :)

We don't have any "crumb snatchers", but I think we'd need a Dispatcher to talk us into conception.

Two questions: First, the article may have been written in GR, but I am pretty sure that 1) Pierson is not GR, and 2) GR is not in Montcalm County. Simple mistake.

Second, where exactly IS "Montcalm County Hospital"? I know of Sheridan Community, United Memorial, Kelsey Memorial, and Carson City. Never have heard of "Montcalm County Hospital".

Great story, and congrats to the family and dispatcher. WOOD - take some time, check your facts, and proofread. Although it isn't "April 32, 2009" like I saw in a previous article, it still detracts from the message.

You don't know you're pregnant...there must have been some clues somewhere? You also don't have any idea about babies being born so this must have been a first and this all happens in minutes? Sheese!

Wonder what the real story is? Probably it's a really good that stupidity is not a crime!

I am happy to hear that everyone is healthy and doing fine. I don't understand how women don't know they are pregnant. There are a few tall-tail signs to clue you in. I also can't believe how many times I hear that women don't get pre-natal care and their babies are fine and for some women who have pre-natal care there are complications. I will never understand this!

Congratulations on a healthy surprise baby boy!

To all those who can't believe she didn't know: watch the new show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant." I think it's on either TLC or Discovery. There was a woman who was very thin who didn't have any symptoms of pregnancy except being tired a lot. Her cycles were erratic to begin with, so that probably had something to do with her not realizing. I have also had friends who had their periods the whole time they were pregnant.

I'm SO sick of people finding this to b*tch about. You're talking about the lead-in tagline which says GRAND RAPIDS -.. right ? That's where the story is being reported from. It was being reported from Grand Rapids, so even though it was ABOUT something in Montcalm County, the reporting occured in Grand Rapids. So, if they'd be at the people's house in Pierson, the tagline would have been Pierson. If a reporter is in Hong Kong talking about something happening on mainland China, they still have a tagline of Hong Kong. Why do people criticize something they obviously don't know anything about ??

And as a side comment, TLC is having a special on women who didn't know they were pregnant... I think it's going to be on... Tuesday night ?

Great story... but I'm still haveing a hard time getting past the line that says they didn't know she was pregnant! A baby that's big enough to decide to come out has to have moved... who of us(women) here has never had a foot in the ribcage?? That's a pretty noticeable symptom!!

Hope they have a savings account because it is about to be depleted! I would be in a panic right now if I was the mom just thinking of everything I needed for the baby! I am assuming they do not have other kids since they aren't mentioned in the article?
What a story to tell for the rest of their lives!:) Congratulations mom and dad!
