wow, who let the lowest bidder put that pipe in? and with no shut-off valve to boot. That's a new one for the DeVos's to let some cheap plumber put that in. Let this be a lesson to never let plumbing go to the lowest bidder who can't put on a shut-off valve.

Unbelievable.

Just about all the contract work was done very piss poorly.
But it wasn't Dick Devos that hired them for Christ sake (lol). Just because he is part owner doesn't mean he does all the hireing fireing bidding..ect..

This must of been a Rockford Construction job. And the subs probably still haven't been paid. Maybe it was sabotage because Rockford holds back payments for at least 90 days.

I work across the street from the JW, it was Rockford construction. If you go into the parking ramp there, you will also see cracks already forming in the walls. They had just finished redoing the floor in 616, and now, they will have to redo it again. Very poor construction.

I have been a sub contractor for Rockford cunstruction and I totally agree they are the best at beating down prices then not paying. holding the subs money for a long time. Mr John Wheller and his company are the worst in the state. seen some pretty shady practices from them.

That hotel has had nothing but problems since it opened, not only did they have to redo the "616" floor but alot of the rooms have had leaks right through the walls, imagine the mold build up (yuck!) the pool has been a problem and the tiles around and in the hot tub have had many issues. No I would never hire Rockford Construction for anything. Nor would I ever pay the price they are asking to stay at that hotel, if it was all what it is suppose to be yes maybe, but not as it sits right now, I would be sick just from the mold.

As an insider I can tell you with complete certainty that the hotel did NOT have 3 floors flood and the lobby was completely unaffected by this flood. don't believe everything you read online. The basement, just like the Amways was the only thing affected. whether or not the construction company is quality is regardless of the fact that water will get through anything. its one if natures forces that is dectructive like it is beautiful.

I especially feel sorry for anyone who experienced flood water at their home. My personal situation is that where I live, the Drain Commission has ignored the drains. They are full of debris and for the past few years I have consistantly complained... to no avail. It appears preventative maintenence is not in the budget, but how can I be sure... because drain inspectors are never available to speak with, let alone return one single phone call. My tax dollars pay their salaries, vacations, fuel in their county trucks, computers, pens, paper, office lighting and a cleaning service to pick up the Subway wrappers they leave on their desks. They have just about everything they need... except telephones that are able to call out as well as receive.
