IRS over 100,000 employees and a $12 billion budget.
National sales tax is what we need. It will get everybody paying in. Rates could come down. Loopholes could go away. We would no longer have to pay for the IRS learning how to dance because we could fire majority of them.

Though I agree with the massive reduction, those collecting the consumption tax for the govt will need to be compensated for their labor to collect and send it in.......

Yup, the minute businesses would lose all of their special tax breaks with a new sales tax, the demands for a new kickback scheme comes up.......

While it's a good idea, the D's will never go for it because it impacts the poor the most and the R's don't like it because it is one step closer to a VAT, which would destroy the economy.

I think a postcard return with a flax tax for everyone achieves the same thing and greatly reduces the size of the IRS.

Reducing the IRS is a step in the right direction. When I say a sales tax will get everybody in I'm not just talking about the poor. I am talking more so about drug dealers, people working for cash, prostitutes. Believe it or not that is a huge chunk of money that never gets taxed. Honestly I would take either tax system to simplify it. My first choice would be national sales tax.
The government would have a harder time raising taxes on everyone at the same time. They specialize in pinning people against groups to get taxes raised. Smokers, drinkers, non homestead residents, diesel tax, big business, the rich, etc.

Please don't change. That type of attitude worked so well for Romney, and I'd hate to see you and the special class you think you belong to would waste it!

Actually it is working well for Romney. Pretty much everything he said is coming to pass and/or being shown to be true. Obama on the other hand continues his strengthen his position as worst President. He already passed Carter and Hoover and is now trying to to beat FDR for stupid economic positions.

The only dime batch ever earned was subsidized by the tax payer. The real debris in society is the corporate welfare scum and anybody who supports them.

Yeah..... Right.......

It's working so well for him that he is sitting on the outside looking in. Of course you can only be compared to past presidents if you actually win, so Mittens is way ahead of the game!
