You shouldn't expect to hold a politician to a higher standard than any of us are allowed to hold a business owner, or the average employee.
Everyone is supposed to grab all they can get without regards to ethics. The true capitalistic way is to rise to the top by climbing on the bones of your victims.
Considering we're their employer I think I can hold them to a higher standard. You don't see any employee voting to give themselves a raise whether they deserve it or not.

And your last paragraph is nothing but pure, unadulterated bullshit. The cornerstone to ANYONE'S life should be to live it in a fair and ethical manner. Character does matter. No capitalist out there worth their weight in crap would tell you ethics is unnecessary.

Is that why no corporation ever polluted the air, land, or water? Or made an unsafe product in order to squeeze out an extra dollar of profit.

Is that why no business owner ever hid income or abused a write off to improve their own bottom line?

And before I forget it, congrats on having the day off, because I know you would never post on here while your boss was paying you to work. We all know it would be unethical to waste time your boss is paying you for.

That's the beauty part about being on one's own employer. Nope, I don't own the company-yet, but you see one's work place/responsibilities are never cut and dry. Funny you know nothing about me, what I do for a living or how my job works. So to make a long story short, kiss my ass Bob.:-)

How about you, I thought you'd found greener pastures and were back in the workforce? Must be the boss decided you were too much of a giant pain in the ass to pay the salary you thought you deserved?

People do bad things. Yes they do. I won't argue that. Corners get cut, air gets polluted, people get mistreated, it happens. But the percentage of cases you outline here versus the percentage of legitimately run businesses will show that the MAJORITY of business owners try their hardest to follow the rules laid out before them.

And yet, you claim to be collecting unemployment, while a full time student at CMU, and also have a new full time job as an engineer making $90K plus per year, and you can post all day on topix.
Do you have everyday off?

Thats total and utter bs, even the small business owner goes to extremes to write off expenses. Trust me I've seen it and a I am much older than you. Ms Angie, weather you like the statement or no, you are stealing productivity from your employer by posting during the work day. It is a fact. Just because it is your slow time does not give you the right to take from him/her. There are many clean up jobs that can be done during that time, so you don't have to worry about them during the busy time. You don't own it yet my arse. Unless you are working for your family. Explain then why you don't bother posting during the evening hours when you are not working?????????? Why??? don't have a computer at home? can't post during the weekends, but can post during the day while you are working. BS, just cause it will interefere w/ your personal time. Lame excuses each and everyone of them from someone who is pretty smart and has some common sense. Your excuses are just like the ones I hear all day, I didn't have time, well if you would sit down, shut up and focus on your job instead of sociallizing, that would not be an issue now would it.

Yea so what, at least he did something to improve himself to pay it back, unlike Grandville Jim. Isn't he the one that sat on hear for close to a year unemployed posting all day instead of looking for a job, but hey that was better now wasn't it.

Well "weather" I like the statement or not, it is total bullshit. I don't work hourly-GASP! And I don't have to explain myself to you. I know it's difficult sometimes to have small minds wrap around the fact that not every employee in this great world doesn't have a cookie cutter position. Meaning they don't work from 8-5 Monday through Friday.

And yes, when I shut my computer down at the end of the day I'm done. Why the hell do I need to turn it back on? So I can run to Topix, sit around with my thumb up my ass and bitch about what the other party is doing? Nope. I'm here when the markets are open and I'm not too busy.

How about you? Or any of the other people on Topix? Bob especially, I thought he just started a new cooshy position where he makes 90k and they have 4-ply toilet paper. Glass houses folks.

If you must know, I work an on-call job that doesn't have set hours. In a down economy, machines work less, and need maintenance less often.

Now that might make me an idiot in your book, but at least I post with the same user name everyday. What cowardly name are you so ashamed of that you had to switch?

You don't own the company, it means you are working for someone else. If you own the company, it means you work for your customers. Coming on here trying to say you are your own employer is just another lie. Sort of like what you most likely tell your boss about how hard you've been working.

By the way..... As you are most likely all ass, would you like to pick out a favorite spot?

Seriously Bob? WTF? Defensive much? Again, I don't have to explain myself to any of you on here. Or how my pay scale or position in this company works. I am not doing anything I shouldn't be by being on here.

And I'm most likely all ass? Wow. Tell everyone in your third grade class I said hi.

Sorry, Say What.....didn't mean to do that to you....but Sassy reminds of someone I stood up to in 5th grade who ran her mouth on a regular basis but when push came to shove, she curled up in the fetal position and whined. Of course, that could describe most of the lefties on these threads. At least that's my impression.

What people skills?? You mean the ones where everyone who doesn't agree with him is a homophobic, racist, bigoted, "teabagging", ignoramus??? THOSE people skills? I'm betting that his first report card said "Does not play well with others."
