This is the biggest Liberal Ruse ever! And, you fools are falling for it!$20 to file for Mayor?? Why would someone who wants some cheap notoriety not spend $20 to file? The Liberals invented this scheme for the sole reason to get their candidate over 50%. Minneapolis is a perfect example of this. There are 35 or so people on the ballot. Most voters know who is the eventual winner, however, they will be enticed to vote for the "Underdog" and then choose the most likely candidate second. This is nothing more than a placebo for those voters without conviction.

This is by far one of the dumbest ways to run an election I have ever seen. As if the voters are not confused enough trying to tell the difference between democrats and republicans. It looks as much like a ruse to guarantee that there is no possibility for a third party to win.

With all the candidates the outcome might be suprising.

The trouble is, now that we have the results, there are many fools who are falling for this. If people would just stick with the One Vote theory that goes back over 200 years, this plan would fail as bad as Obamacare will.

Agree, everyone should vote for 1 (one) candidate only.

That would eliminate the rank choice voting BS.

If the vote counters didn't have any 2nd and 3rd choices to tilt the results they couldn't use the rank choice BS. Rank Choice also allows for election manipulation by the "Officials" counting the 2nd and 3rd choices.

I'd say Becky WON with 36% of the votes!

Either that or have a run off where the top 5 candidates are on the final ballot with the top vote getter wins.

If Instant Run Off Voting is so good, why haven't the votes been tabulated yet?

Two days later and NO RESULTS! This is working well. They are using a PC and a Excel Spreadsheet to tabulate the numbers. Pray tell what will happen if some ingenious hacker gets into the program? Maybe Barack Obama will be the next mayor of Minneapolis.

Joe, you are absolutely right! I cannot understand why you got the judging that you did. Liberals are pissed I would guess. The way to get rid of the boondoggle called "Ranked Choice" is for people to simply Vote one time for one candidate. Only 11 cities have this type of election process, and it fails in each and every one due to the onerous nature of the ballot counting. Also, Ranked Choice is not in compliance with Federal Election Law as there are no standards that govern this procedure. This is just a Liberal way to assure their continuing selection of progressive candidates. Wake up People.

I heard about their Excel debacle. This is one of the most unreliable ways to tabulate this info. The only way to guarantee reliability on these things is if, and it's a big if, there is only one person with access to the spread sheet. And a backup copy somewhere. And in this case, it should be backed up every time someone makes changes to it and saves it again.

It's a good thing they don't have too many ballots/votes to count.

You are absolutely correct sir. Look at the number of votes (80,000) and the population (314,000 over 18). Looks like about 25%. what if 75% of the people come out? Can you say CRASH?

There were 233,367 registered voters, therefore with 80,101 votes cast that would be 34%.

Yes, except that Obama-care is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. That is FAIL. Then the administration / Progressives will be able to institute single payer (Socialized Medicine) easily. Underneath the noses of the low information people of the USA who believe all the B S that is happening right before there eyes.

At 10:14 p.m. Thursday more than 50 hours after the polls closed officials finally confirmed that Betsy Hodges had been elected the next mayor of Minneapolis.

This is more than TWO FKN DAYS! Working well I'd say.
