Her 'Poetry Trophy' and a buck won't get this loser a cup of coffee! But the audience thought bashing Bachmann was the most powerful minute of the evening in the poetry slam. We are SO impressed, don't quit your day job as a waitress. LOL

"How could we expect you to take a stand against bullying, when it helps pay for your mortgage?" asks DeMulder, contending that the Bachmanns have blood on their hands from every LGBT youth who has committed suicide in Minnesota in recent years.

"Tell your daughter that God is the bully with the biggest fist, and you can only hope that He is on your side," spits DeMulder, in possibly the most powerful minute of poetry we've ever heard.

With her one minute entry in the competition, the young poet accused Bachmann of refusing to “acknowledge the bullying of gay students in your district” because of the money her family makes from the clinic.“When another gay teenager commits suicide in Minnesota,” DeMulder said,“you consider this free advertising. You buy a new necklace for every hanging, a bottle of Merlot for each overdose, your husband sends ‘thank you’ cards to their funeral, hand-signed, all referrals welcomed.”

The poem ends with an imagined conversation between Bachmann and her “youngest daughter,” with DeMulder advising the mother to tell her daughter,“God is the bully with the biggest fist and you can only hope that he is on your side!”

I don't understand the "poetry" in this, but I do agree with the message, wholeheartedly.

"Equality first" unless someone disagrees with you, then the "message" is it's OK to bash someone using bad poetry, or any other means. Hypocrite. No wonder most sane people don't support your cause.

I don't usually answer unregistered posts, but I will go with this one. I believe our enemies have the same rights I do, and that is to disagree as verbally as we want. They, unfortunately, sometimes like to use physical force, or subject us to Bachmann's type of psychological barbarity. Nothing in my "Equality First" slogan prevents anyone from their right to speech......them or us.

So, if one believes in God, and God's message is counter to those beliefs that support Gay and Lesbians, One is a bigot?

if you have no rational reason to oppose homosexuality, yes, i would call that a bigot..

and a religious cult would not seem to be a rational reason...

Well, many would consider Religion and belief in God as Rational, in fact a little of 1/3rd of the world's population have some belief in God, so are they all, by your definition, bigots?

if they use that irrational belief to deny others rights, yes i would.

believing in a religious cult that is based on proven falsehoods and lies would not seem rational to me in any way.

Faith in your spouse, your marriage, your friends and yes, just plain faith. You don't have to have faith in "something" or "someone" to have faith.

For many people there is great value in faith in their choice of religion or god. While there is really no way to prove (or disprove) the existence of a deity, that does not by default make that belief irrational.

We are not talking about 'faith in' something or someone. It's irrelevant to the discussion.

We're talking about 'faith' as a religious belief. Faith in that context is irrational irrespective of its personal value. Faith, by definition, is irrational. It is a belief in something that has no basis in reality. There is nothing tangible or measurable. It is, in the strictest sense, nothing more than faith.

Faith is completely, utterly, incontrovertibly irrational.

Well, all the lies and falsehoods in the bible certainly show divine inspiration and an infallible god do not exist, so the abrahamic god does not exist, that myth has been proven.

so that belief is irrational.
