Bill doesn't eat cats and dogs.
Populations of cats and dogs are being reduced by sterilization. There are increasing number of predators taking small dogs and cats. Wolves, coyotes, coons, and bear kill dogs and cats. |

very true. the message about the reasons to sterlize one's pets is getting out there. . thank goodness that means that less animals will be abandoned or outright killed by their owners. when I'm talking about abandonment. I'm talking about the unfortunate act of taking one's pet out to the country and leaving them there. . plus, there was a unfortunate time when some teachers would bribe their students into better grades if they took home a kitten from the momma cat those teachers had. . plus felines and canines that have been neutered(castration for males, spaying for females) live longer. and they will live even longer if they are kept to the house. house and yard for dogs with solid fencing that goes down into the ground. |

Your husband owns a dog. Did he have you spayed or neutered? |

People in Minnesota are fully aware that it is mandatory by law to shoot any stray cats and dogs that are harming wildlife. People who have lost their pets this way from being negligent and irresponsible pet-owners generally don't adopt new pets that can stray. Thus further reducing any market for pet-animals that breed.
Unwanted pets are also not dumped from other states into Minnesota, knowing full-well that those pets are likely to be shot to death to destroy them. Non-human predators and costly spay & neuter programs have very little to do with the reduction in criminally irresponsible pet-owners and unwanted pets in Minnesota. Shoot-to-kill laws work well and work fast. The cost is also negligible to all tax-payers. It only costs the price of the ammo for those home-owners that care to obey the laws and shoot all unsupervised stray pets. |

Not true. Not true at all. Read this post: http://neighbors.denverpost.com/viewtopic.php... It even explains why Australia's experiment to increase native predators on their lands also failed at reducing cat population growth rates, so they went back to shooting all stray cats. |

You should have to take and pass a test to understand the responsibility of having a pet before you can have one. First: License them and get them the shots. If you never pick up the dog pooh in your yard, it makes for a horrible smell for your neighbors. And when there are 2 dogs it's even worse. The constant barking until they go back into the house tells me the owners are Inconsiderate and ignorant.

sometimes those dogs bark constantly in the house for hours. . got a couple of neighbors in my condo complex that refuse to pick up their dog(s)' leavings. been very tempted to bag them then drop the bags on the doorstep to their condos. . one actually had the gall to tell me that the ones their dang mutt left in front of my living room window was from my pets. even after I pointed out that I dont own a dog. |

Also, in Mpls. there has been a large shift from home ownership to living in upscale apartments, which do not allow pets. Just look at the Uptown area, thousands of new units have been built in the last couple of years. It's like a zoo, they don't need to add cats and dogs to the mix!

some still sneak in pets. not just fish, but other animals as well. . plus even in a pet free place, if it is a service animal. they can not be barred from living there. and others start to bring in pets out of jealousy. till the owners have to revoke the no pet ruling. . plus, many of those are condos. which means the folks living there do have the right to try and change the bylaws on the subject. |

I hadn't thought of that. I'm looking for a condo in Florida, and have been skipping the ones that don't allow pets, since I want to get a small dog. Rather than sneaking one in, I might consider getting on the association board, and trying to get them to allow dogs under a certain weight. I don't think large dogs belong in small places. |

even if you are not on the board. if you have a mortgage on a condo. you have a vote for what ever goes on with the building/complex you live in. . and you can suggest changes to the bylaws at the meetings they need to hold at least once a year. will help if you get a petition going to have the required bylaw changed. this way, with a number of names on it of the folks that live there. you would have a better chance at getting it changed. |

Now we need to start sterilizing the Aspies. They should never be allowed to reproduce. Their social and cognitive deficits in the prefrontal and frontal areas of the brain make them incapable of caring or feeling empathy for a baby. The offspring of these brain damaged mutants end up with sever psychological problems due to the severe neglect they experience as infants (do to the Aspie parent being unable to recognize facial expressions, crying or other clues that the child is in distress). |
