Oil companies will lie cheat and steal to get what they want. We need oil but the way they do business isnt what you would call morally correct just ask any ethanol producer in Minnesota.

20 minutes of work followed by 40 minutes of rest? Should have hired all Mexicans, they work much harder than that.

Would you want to do it? The story says most of these people signed on bacause they were out of work.

Have you seen the latest CNN story? These people may have signed on to a death train.

"CNN is warning volunteers on the current Gulf Spill of this dire information. The fact that the workers from the 1989 Alaska spill have died, surely will give current workers something to think about.

CNN and numerous other groups including Salem-News.com , have revealed the fact that this is very unhealthy work. Exposure to contaminants is something humans are supposed to avoid, but in this case it is a draw card for work in a broken national economy.

The average life expectancy for an Exxon Valdez oil spill worker according to the CNN report, is 51 years."

Before people keep complaining about how ineffective they are, be thankful that someone is doing something. Maybe some of the complaining residents should get their butts out there and help.

Why aren't all the 'locals' out there cleaning stuff up too? Why aren't the prisons empty because all the prisoners are out there, earning their 3 meals?

This is so sad.

We should never allow a private company again to be able to do such a thing to our environment and our economy. This is one of the prime reasons that our government should take over all of the energy companies. Then we will never have to worry abotu a repeat of this fiasco.

It sounds like you have worked in oil vapors for a long time...your cognitive reasoning skills are clearly compromised.

its ok u tree huggers got your wish now. after obama passes this drilling ban those rigs will all go bye bye and leased to brazil. what? no did u actually think they would just idle by and wait out the 6 months to see if they can go back to work? lol. bye bye U.S. economy. wait until they uncapp these rigs and head out to brazil. we could potentially have 30 of these rigs leaking oil.

Perhaps they should stop whining and do the work? My God, how people scream if they have to do anything other than unzip their pants anymore. What a bunch of sissies!
