Not sure why everyone is acting like nothing happened, oh I forgot "we" islanders protect our own, even if he hurts an INNOCENT child..I am sure everyone knows exactly who it is..Just make sure if you bring your family to the island, to not let your children out of sight, not like the law around here is going to protect you. Just wait till election. How are you going to cover that up. And the rest of the world thought this place was boring,ha look what all we got going on some sicko to the oil spill heck, the weekends only starting.

It is sad, very sad that people would stick together and act like nothing is wrong or happened to protect each other due to politics and who they are even though a child is involved. Maybe each person over there keeping their mouth shut don't have kids or much less a heart to allow this to be okay. It's not just "the big shots in town's" fault why this is being covered or not acknowledged but it's the people of that towns fault also. I am assuming grand isle has a population of what 2,000 that actually live there so in reality there is what 9 elected officials out of those 2,000 people? Gosh that is sad that a town would allow 9 people to control them and their environment. This town or world will never change if nobody speaks up and takes charge of making their environment safe. Society, meaning each individual, has a voice, so why don't anybody use their voice? What can 9 elected officials honestly do to a whole population if EVERYBODY spoke up and stood together? Situations like this is what causes parents, family members, and other loved ones to take care of the punishments themselves. This person is sick and waste of oxygen and space on this earth if he thinks it is okay to do this to a child. I hope this man gets his punishment and the victim and his family can sleep once again at peace.

Even though it's a shame what is happening in the Gulf right now, I wonder how that little boy's parents are handleing seeing the mayor on the news everyday bawling like a baby. He's so concerned about "his island" and the people of Grand Isle, but he didnt care about the town when it came to making bail for his "step dad". Bet this was an answer to his prayers, now the talk is about the oil and not about the corruption. To that little boy's parents, my heart goes out to you.

Thank those who have spoken up and whom have been so concerned regarding my son. For all I can say is those on Grand Isle know what J Datin "Capt Jay" did to my son, and how dare you to act as though nothing ever happened. All I can say is you have to live with yourself and answer to a higher authority. Grand Isle has the most corrupted law officials. And as for you Mayor Camardelle how dare you act as though you have no idea what happened, and defending that man. I thought as a parent you felt the pain I went through that day, and now you act as though nothing happened. For God works in mysterious ways, what goes around comes around. My heart goes out to everyone who is feeling the loss and devistation regarding the oil spill, but for you and Sherrif Dubios, you act as though you are so concerned about the people of Grand Isle, you are only thinking of yourselves and how this can benifit you. I really dont know how the both of you can lay your heads down at night, knowing you are defending a child molestor, and you were there to witness his statement. And you are supposed to protect the people and uphold the law. You protect yourselves and make your own law.
