you know it was done by someone who has in-depth knowledge of legal proceedures. Knowledge that helped him cover up and destroy anything that would tie him to the crime. I'm glad that at least he is not a Jamestown police officer any more. I hope someday the legal community will be able to get him. This is strictly my personal opinion, I have no evidence to back my opinion up. John from Sinclairville.

You people just don't get it. Mike Watson was working as a jailer the night Bindics went missing. Before that he was at Wal-Mart with his family. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to be in two places at one time.

You people just don't get it. Mike Watson was working inside JPD as a jailer the night Bindics went missing. Before that he was at Wal-Mart with his family. As far as I know it's impossible to be in two different places at one time.

Point, YOU don't get it. Yolanda disappeared at approx. 8:15 - 8:20pm, so NO he was not working as a jailer at that time. You are posting such inaccuracies, and it needs to stop. He also left his post that night and gee, wouldn't say where he was. As for Wal-Mart.... prove it!! There is no proof he was there. So, please don't try to sound like you know what happened that night. And boy, if you do, I hope you're arrested soon, which I'm sure you will be.

You're an idiot. You shouldn't believe the information coming out of the Jamestown Police Department. They are lying. Ever listen to the Ray Hall Show on WJTN. Maybe you should start and be enlightened.

You are when you base your information on what's coming out of the Jamestown Police Department and idle gossip. You have already made up your mind without hearing both sides of this. In my book, that's an idot. I do know the other side of this, and so will you, soon. Unless you're one of those people who, when they form a decision, they will not change it no matter what the facts are.

First of all mike Watson did it his little girl friend January Delaney also was in on it I know it thru very good source... January told my sister n then threatened her if she told.... January got locked up for robbing the bell view n falconer right after that murder happen. They both deserve to b locked up, but hey mike was a cop none would think anything right.. So yet he still out here running the streets, all Jamestown cops back one another up they don't do shit for this town but make it worse takes them over an hour to respond to anything, sorry for her family must be hard not know what happened n her children it's a shame!!!

The Jamestown Chief of Police says investigators know who killed Yolanda Bindics, a 25-year-old mother of four who disappeared five years ago and was later found murdered.

The bad news -- The chief says they're not absolutely certain they have enough evidence to convict the killer.

Bindics vanished the night of August 10, 2004 after she left work at the Jamestown Family Dollar. Two years later, hunters found her remains in a wooded area near the town of Charlotte, Chautauqua County. Police had hoped forensic testing would lead them to her killer.

But almost exactly five years after she died, her mother, Patricia Bindics sits at a living room shrine dedicated to her daughter, and wonders why the case was never fully solved.

"Well, I've been through a terrible grieving process," Patricia Bindics said. "I realize that my daughter was... robbed of practically her life. She was a very young girl."

After her disappearance, Jamestown Police say they interviewed several men who were close to Yolanda, including then-city police officer Michael Watson, Darien Thomas who is the father of Yolanda's second child, and Clarence Carl Carte; who is the father of her youngest.

While authorities never charged anyone, the Jamestown Police Chief revealed to 2 On Your Side that investigators know who killed her, but are concerned they do not yet have enough evidence to convict the killer.

Reporter Aaron Saykin spoke to Chief Rex Rater.

RATER: "We've discussed with the district attorney if we're at the point now whether we should take it to the grand jury."

SAYKIN: "Fair to say that you're pretty comfortable in your belief that you've narrowed it down to who did. It's just a matter of proving it?"

RATER: "I'm personally comfortable with the direction of who the suspect is, yes."

SAYKIN: "Does that suspect still reside within the area?"
here is the story from wgrz, since that link won't work:
CHIEF: "He's within our reach."

Rater would not tell us who it is.

It was a somewhat encouraging revelation to the Bindics family because police are close, but also discouraging because they may get no closer.
