Was there not just a story about poor management leading too excessive overtime expense at the Grand Island tolls. Its simple hire more employees at starting wages. Before the tolls are raised the attorney general should have an audit done on the management practices. If the toll needs to be raised then it should. People who use the bridge should pay for its upkeep. Now if people feel the toll is not being used exclusively for the bridges upkeep then that is what they should be protesting!

Hey OMG... Volker was the only one to call out the Governor on this issue. It wasn't your buddy Paladino or your friend Antwan Thompson. So get a grip and stop your bellyacheing. Maybe you should get the paper cup that your so proud about and fill it to the top with all that kool-aid that your drinking.

“Say NO to Tolls!”

Oh My God! What a bunch of idiots. I still can't believe this is going on. And the biggest mindless leader of the bunch Rus Thompson can't figure out that if there isn't a fair equitable spread of the maintenance burden of the GI Bridges that the people locally will be taxed in some other form. Right now at least out of towners going to the Falls contribute, plus other who desire to use the Buffalo to NF - shortcut.
It is mindblowing to me that these morons can't see the increase in polution and traffic that would occur with the toll removal. Not to mention that in New york state is is illegal to have low-income housing on a toll road. I for one don't want to see the already excessive number of apartments on GI turn in to some government funded slums and lower my property value.
Will you people get a clue and fingure out that the 9 cents or even with the rate hike 25 cents is worth the end all long term.
What a short sighted, moronic objective people will chance to make a popint or save a couple of cents. Damn get a clue with the bigger picture and go worry about global warming or some other pointless rant and leave G.I. and its tolls and big moat alone.
Mindless? I think your post is absolute proof of the mindless corrupt self serving employees that run the thruway authority. Sorry if this threatens your cushy job but beleive me, I will not stop until these tolls are down. That is a promise.

You know what is funny Rus perfect example of your meaningless chest pounding.

I do not nor have I ever worked for the NYS Thruway authority or a state job, nor has any of my family.

I am a sucessful owner of an international corporation.

Difference between you and I is I understand business, taxation, government operations and long range impact on decisions that have spidering ripple-effects.

Your comment here - assuming that I work for the NYSTA should be a warning to all, just how you go about everything. Assumptions, knee-jerk reaction and without any true knowledge or research.

To you final comment, I on the other hand will continue to do EVERYTHING in my power to educate and inform people of the direct and indirect impact of your moric plight.

You can stop with your personal attention ranting now - you lost the election - move on. Plant a tree - do something that will have a positive impact on Grand Island.
