The DOT and Erie County Department of Public works wanted to put a roundabout at the intersection of Greiner and Shimerville Roads in Clarence. The intersection is not in a commerical/business area, but rather in a residential section of the Town.

According to the ECDPW, the size they were proposing was a diameter of 140 feet and splitter lane extending 110 feet in all directions.

My suggestion to residents of Grand Island is to take a trip around the roundabouts at Kensington/Harlem/Wehrle and in the Town of Hamburg before the public meeting. You may be unpleasently surprised!!!
