I know I love how they say in the papers how Patrick was an executive! Ha A drug abusing, drunk executive. I can only imagine how that company was run if he was in charge!!

He wasn't a saint, but he wasn't the way some of you portray him. I have to say he was very good hearted and kind. I never knew him to hurt anyone other than himself. He was a good friend to me and I really liked him because he was so good to me and everyone we knew. I think more people hurt him in life and I don't recall him ever doing anything to hurt anyone else. He wasn't happy with people because he always just wanted someone to be close to, but most people used him.

Did you read the obit? How many high schools did the kid get kicked out before finally graduating from Timon?

And Oh yes, but I forgot, he was an accomplished fantasy football and online gambling wiz and also didn't like to read instruction manuals.. Wow! Those are notable accomplishments for a 29 year old and I find him even more endearing now!

Carl, maybe you follow the advice of A Friend: "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all- especially when you do not know what you are talking about."

I hope we can all pass judgement on you on a blog the way you are doing to this man. You're all a bunch of self righteous jerks. It sounds like you're all spewing because of jealousy or in spite. What goes around comes around....

First of all, I feel terrible for his family.

I know many people who are kind and good hearted. However, if they were drunk and drivingwest in the eastbound lanes at high speed, it would have been immediately reported for what it was...a DWI. It would not have been stifled. The press needs to treat everybody equally.

Privilege... it won't protect you from dying in a car.

It would only be reported if charges were pressed. Obviously, that is not the outcome here. It's no one's business, including media outlets, how Patrick came to his final fate. The Paladinos don't have to release toxicology results -- and why should they? So judgmental SOBs pretending to care can verbally attack them?

Thank you for being the voice of reason. It's really disgusting how people behave at times like this.

Semper Fidelis? You are tarnishing the honor and integrity of the USMC. If you are a Marine and have such problems w/ Carl, then be a man and take it to him directly. Don't take the cowards' way out and post anonymous crap on the internet.

How dare all of you!, What is happening in today's society? Have human beings forgotten how to care about other human beings? Has respect for a grieving family completely disappeared? I have never read such hateful, cruel things after the death of another human being. How disgusting!!

I personally did not know Patrick, but I will offer my deepest sympathy to the family that lost a son, brother, uncle, and wish them prayers and strength to get through this terribly tragic loss.

If he had life insurance, and his AD&D policy contains alcohol or drug exclusions, it may become public.

I agree that it is premature to assume that this guy was intoxicated, but given the circumstances it is reasonable to assume he was. Driving the wrong way at a high speed at 1:30am on a weekend fits the profile a person who is likely too intoxicated to drive.. It is illegal, a felony, and society has little tolerance for people who drive drunk... How many stories have been in the news recently about innocents killed by drunk drivers? I can think of examples in Hamburg, the University District of Buffalo, and Amherst just in the last few months... Alden Correctional is half full with people convicted of multiple DWIs and vehicular homicide... Getting drunk and getting behind the wheel is not the act of someone who cares about others' safety.. It's a selfish act...

I beg to differ. It's fortunate that he didn't hit somebody head on. DWI is DWI. Where did he get so hammered? Who served him so much alcohol that he drove on the wrong side of the road? When somebody dies, it's kind of important...

I agree .. There will be a toxocology report done ... It will take 2-4 weeks.. I'm sure any supplemental investigation will contain information on what establishments he may have patronized... The NYS Liquor Authority will get a copy.. I imagine given his familiy's affulence he had life insurance and the family will make a claim... This means a toxocology report will be made available to the insurance company for review.. And I'm sure the police will be accomondating to the media since his dad refered to their many unions as "predators of taxpayer" in one his many radio ads..
