Hmmm, I might have to call b.s on this one. Typical car saleman giving a rosy picture of rv sales. I was at Camping World last week and didn't see anyone in the showroom. RV blogs have articles regarding a few rv makers shutting down and others cutting production. This is not a sign of a stable market. High end diesels on the other hand, 400k and up, seem stable as people who can afford them aren't affected by higher fuel prices.

I am in agreement With DMG. We cancelled our trip to DC for the Holiday week and the campground said we were on the only ones by a long shot. Ours is a 9 yr old diesel pusher that we could travel across the country on what it takes to fill it once now. Nah unless price drop our will stay local.

Also they have been slashing price on new and used like crazy! I have seen new ones cut by 30-40 percent before haggling!

Are RV that bad for gas mileage?
At that rate it would be cheaper to fly?
I can't believe the news reporting that SUV sales are slid off the map, but RV is up?
Sounds shady to me, like summer is coming LOL

But you haven't a clue what the RV ers are really up to. Retirees are selling their homes and living in large motor homes year round. No taxes, no mortgage payment, no lawn to mow. They live like carefree gypsies. These are retired people. With no taxes or mortgage, they can afford the gas.

As for the casual vacationer, I imagine sales are down.
WGRZ is not real news

Of course this is a "feel good" piece that is trying to boost sales of RV's. Here's the real deal:

Check it out. Winnebago was just down 66% from the same quarter last year.

This is propaganda I'd expect to see in the Buffalo sNews.

Why does WGRZ lower it's credibility by printing rubbish like this? No wonder Channel 4 is atop the ratings.

I heard a comment on Channel 2 from a bystander in the TV presentation that this is George Bush's fault. Better check the records, oil deregulation was signed in President Clinton's last term. You might also want to check on Congress. Their approval rating is much less than the president and they hold many of the cards.

Please check, Oil Deregulation Act of 1998, Republic Act 8479. Enacted by the Tenth Congress. No, I don't get "facts" from any media source, just history.

You correct sir. Our family was considering an RV too. But with Tonawanda Forge closing down we will not be making anymore large purchases or visits to the beach for a while

Drive Them??? You better not! The warrenties are total crap!!! From Freedom Care RV Warrenty book through CAMPING WORLD! They exclude paying for any repairs for any of the following reasons, Misuse, corrosion or rust, neglect, road hazards, Falling Missiles or objects,{honest it is in there} Earthquake, Hailstorm, windstorm, Flood, arson, Explosion, Contamination of any nature, Failure of any fastener, deterioration, condentation, Lighting, riot or civil commotion, faulty manufacturing or maintanance, recalls, any maintanance done without approval first or at they're approved location, any modifacations have been made.

So take your pick my brother's RV was 16 months old and they refuse to pay for the wiring harness that had a short in it somewhere because of corrosion! Anyone, Including him, that buys a RV is nuts. If you got one stay away from the warrenties just throwing away good money after bad!
