Same thing Arizona said, they seem to be doing well currently.

oh well....and who knows the bright side of it???? 78,000 jobs of what nature? Unpacking products from China? Well, that's less illegals on our infrastructure, in our emergency rooms, in our schools, etc.....the financial bottom line will balance out, on the up and up.....the spending free-for-all spiral downward is done.....

Does the idiot author (Cindy Gonzales, well it figures) realize LEGAL immigrants will not vanish. However ILLEGAL immigrants (aliens) will vanish (deported) if the American people have their way.

Cindy Gonzales is nothing but a joke to the legal citizens of Nebraska! I've never witnessed such slanted/biased so-called reporting in my life. She and her newspaper are nothing but a joke, deep in bed with the illegal alien border jumper supporters. What about the Black community Cindy? They have a high percentage of unemployed in the same industries as your buddies "the illegals" are now working. Where's your empathy for them? There is NONE!

All Cindy cares about are Mexican illegal immigrants. Who cares about the jobs that have been taken from Americans. She should go back with the illegals and write articles in Mexico

I forgot to add: She has no respect for we the taxpayers and believe you me, we're paying through the nose. She's so embedded with the illegals and "their supporters" it's not funny. Just google her name and see for yourself!

First, the study was sponsored by the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies. Since the study uses "IF" I'll say "what if" also.
I think most of us know that in a study People draw conclusions. What if the people doing the study concluded that If the immigrants vanished there would be a positive impact. Would the study have made the news? Sorry, but I think the study may be biased.
The study says "what if the immigrants vanished and they weren't replaced...."
I say what if they were replaced. Where is the evidence that they would not be replaced?

One problem with this study is that there is no distinction between legal and illegal. No one I know id suggesting that the legal immigrants leave.

This may be a dumb question, but how do they know how much immigrants contributed to the economy for sure? I don't see people at Wal-Mart and other stores asking whether someone is an immigrant.

For the authors of this report to have lumped legal and illegal immigrants together is simply disingenuous. If the illegal immigrants vanished, the jobs won't vanish, the work still needs to be done. Those positions will be filled by legal workers, and unemployment will be reduced as well. Illegal immigrants are a complete detriment to our society and make a mockery of our laws. More needs to be done to prevent these people from getting jobs in the first place, as did Arizona. Accomplish that, and the illegals will "self-deport".

karen in omaha, I agree with you.

I work for the omaha world herald

and I will tell you that Cindy is a biased and hateful woman.

she is obsessed with enabling illegal aliens in this country.

I have never seen her condmen illegal aliens doing anything bad in this country.

the Omaha World Herald is got a lot of bias and their columnists

(not all, but at least half using the paper for their own agenda

and it is time that Michaela Saunders and Jeffrey Robb and Cindy Gonzalez and

and Stu Pospisil (who does High School sports scores and reviews of area high schools when it comes to sports,

Stu BTW is also the president of the Omaha Benson High School alumni Association

http://www.bensonbunnies.com/

(anyone think he has a conflict of intrest)

and others at the OWH who are outright biased in the reporting

need come clean about the bias in stories
at least Robert nelson admits he is a democrat party mouthpiece

why cant the others admit what they are to the Omaha world herald readers

also, when it comes to doing stories on omaha churches:

Andrew Nelson and Qianna Bradley need to do some research in the future

and not believe every some Omaha pastor tells them.

i know of several stories Qianna has done, where the truth has been blurred and twisted big time.

Thanks for your input. I noticed Cindy doesn't live in the "Hispanic" area, but way out west. Interesting I'd say. When the paper called to see why I'd cancelled my subscription I told them it was due to Gonzalez' slanted reporting and when she reports the other side of the illegal alien invader situation, call me. The caller acted dumber than a post. Please update if you think of anything else. TY

I noticed that Gonzalez things bias towards a certain ethnicity.

Rather than write endlessly about my decades in California immersed within the invading horde I will condense a multitude of negative experiences in regards to the invaders into this.....

I was forced into becoming a refugee within my own country, forced out of my home state by a horde of invaders who created and maintain horrid social and economic conditions.

I re-entered the USA after leaving California.

I am convinced the USA is facing a clear and present danger from outside invasion.

For those that truly care, there is ample information on the Web to support my fears.

It's a telling tale when the L.A. Tribune has to file bankruptcy. American Citizens are tired of the beat of the illegal alien drum. Remember the days when American newspapers supported American Citizens and their hard work! Hope they all go bankrupt if they can't support Americans!!!

It was the L.A. Times and Chicago Tribune. Not the L.A. Tribune.
