Is it crazy to decide you want a new career after 30????

Not usually. Sometimes people have to change careers out of necessity. For example, at some point in time a Dirigible Flight Technician was pretty much forced to become an Airplane Technician or become unemployed. We all do what we have to do, and if you are too old to learn a new trade, then you need to retire quietly.

Well, Wild Bill I hope that you are an optimist as I am. Retire quietly is not something I will ever pursue.

So, when you say 30, do you mean at the age of 30 or after 30 years? The reason I ask, is that I am 32 and in school with a career transition. I was previously a career Marine, but certain events transpired that led to me not being physically able to continure service in the Marine Corps, thus, I work an administrative job (career change number one) while I finish up school which will hopefully lead to career change number two in the past five years.

I meant after age 30. I am usually not insecure, but I have to evaluate things differently than I did when I was like 20.
