too bad the statistics don't look at underemployement. you could conceivably have very low unemployement but still have many working at McDonaldss

What about the stimulus?
What about the auto company bailouts?
What about the promised green collar jobs?

Anybody willing to defend the economic policies of this governor or BO?

Soon, all that will be left is government workers, homeless bums and welfare queens. When nobody is left to pay for them, what a wonderfully loud, funny squeal that will be!

I don't know, I think she said it right...we have been blown away.

She has done a horrible job. Thank you voters of Michigan.

And our incompetent governor is being looked upon as a Democrat guru for the economic and employment wizards of the Obama team. Thank you voters of the US.

I saw a photo of a pick up truck tailgate that says it all...

The letters that make up OBAMA are in red. The rest of the words of the message were in blue. It reads...One Big A$$ Mistake America. Well said.

What was that last paragraph about...a little out of place...or was that a slam on them????

Larry, your right....I've not applied for unemeployment and I haven't paid myself for working during the past month and it looks like it may have to continue for another month...I also know many white collar workers now doing jobs for half the money..just to survive....the State of Michigan could have lost 50% of its income tax base in the past 2 years...

the Big "O" said the stimulus would make then retracted and stated it would make/save 109,000 jobs....does that mean our State will only have 109,000 jobs when he's done????? Makes me think ...how many of those jobs saved are State employees?????

The State better start letting go of its employee's and fast...Pontiac's delema of losing so many families is happening everywhere...leaving Michigan..why do we need the same amount of workers?????(The Permit Departments are probably getting real good at card games...maybe we should increase taxes so we can increase the budget to buy them Wii's so they won't become obese.) We need a rapid decrease in size and cost of our State's Government and services...why do we think we need a full time house and senate???? what's so important and critical that needs their help????(it sure isn't the economy, I don't even know if any of them have shown up the last few months or not...but, I have heard some speeches and also some off the wall proposals for odd non-important/non-critical things)...looks like the Government should cut about a minimum of 10% of it's work force, just to keep pace with the amount of unemployed and those who have left the State.

yes, how dare he not reverse this trend in less than the two months he's been in office. what about the d-uche bag that preceeded him for 8 years?
you can blame Jenny, but don't forget about bush and all his cronies who gave business a blank check to decimate the middle class for the last 8 years.

Larry, you're comment is sad. If you were properly educated in the history of exactly when the seeds for all this mess were planted you'd be asking why did Tax-and-spend-ocrats do this to us, and why did passive Whimp-ublicans let it ride. The Bush-bashing from whiny libs is getting WAY old!

The governor seems to have fallen off the edge of the earth, which is alright considering her ego and intelligence will be reunited (if they ever were).

I think TV8 does a terrible job of covering this issue locally. Stiles Machinery in Kentwood, laid off 50 people in December and 130 people this past week and yet there has been no coverage of this fact. This seems like pretty big news if you ask me.

C'mon "thegreatwhizzo", the formerly much bashed "tax & spend democrats" were replaced by the "borrow & spend republicans"(actually dating back to Reagan). Our economic prosperity until the collapse was substantially based on borrowed & spent money for which the Republicans took to a whole new level. Funny how you never heard the term tax & spend democrats the past 8 years while the borrow & spend repubs spent their a$$ses off as did many Americans who are now so upside down they can't spend diddly squat. There can be no denying that the Republicans primarily, with that dummy Bush at the helm got us into this Hell Hole.
It will be a long way out of this mess and who really knows what will or will not get us out. Obama
may make the wrong moves getting us out but the "one term senator" did not get us into this mess. The Bush (miss)directed Republicans did, with help ofcourse from the Democrats.

Just remember, the dem's were in charge of the House and Senate for the last two years. The national budget comes from the House, all the President has to do is veto or sign it. We all know that if Pres Bush had vetoed the last two, they would have overridden his veto.
I'm not saying that everything he did was correct, because he did go on a spending spree. But what Obama is doing to this country is just plain sinful.
Our children and grandchildren are going to be paying for just 2009 for a long time. I hate to think what Obama will do in the next 3 years.

Maybe it's time to start a nationwide recall.
Might not be a bad idea.
Any volunteers to get it started?
A lot of unemployed people with time on their hands.

Just stay the course, were are getting just what she told us we would get" BLOWN AWAY" Me I will be at the Tax March in front of the Capital on April 15th, at noon, to let them all know they have ruined our state. Now her hubby wants to run for govenor, and he's the one who has advised her ALL this time..Ask the people who work with her, it came right from one of them. Stand up, our homes are loosing value, while our taxes go up. Where's the justice in THAT?? I didn't support her in the beginning and I want to see a different leader who can " WORK FOR THE PEOPLE WHO PAY THEIR WAGES" while we aren't getting ANY! Time to get those senators out and give them a PINK Slip to tell them so. It's time to get OFF our BUTTS AND SCREAM we've had ENOUGH of their making laws that destroy us..See you at the March, if you care for your FREEDOM!

The problem isn't Granholm, or Obama.

It's a bunch of greedy morons on wall street who gambled all of our pensions and lost, an auto industry that didn't look past the end of it's own nose, deregulation of tax law pertaining to overseas operations, and a whole host of other bad decisions of many people.

Then again, if anonymous online forums are where you have reasoned discourse, they wouldn't be full of word-hyphenating morons.

Grow up and do something about it
