Hi my name is Rachel Pelton, My daughter Alyssa and I went to Michigans Adventure's today the 9th of June along with her fifth grade class from Beach school,Fruitport TWP. We had a great time. I was a chaperone for my daughter and two other girls,We enjoyed the Trip until it got closer to the end of the day. The girls decided to try to get at least one last ride before departure. All of us had ridden a ride earlier in the day called the "Frog Hopper" It was a blast. So we had all decided this would be our last ride for the day, Well once we arrived at the ride the two other girls decided they wanted to ride the "Mad Mouse" So I said sure go ahead, my daughter still wanted to go on the "Frog Hopper" I figured that would work out fine since the rides we right next to each other. Alyssa got in line to go on the ride,The girl running the ride told my daughter she was to tall, so Alyssa walked away crying,I asked the girl why can't she ride,The girl told me she did not want to hurt her feelings cause she was to HEAVY.... I told the girl"this is not right" Cause we had ridden the ride earlier in the day as I said before.I asked for a manager. All I wanted was for the girl to apoligize, The manager said"no" Her name was Janet, She preceded to tell me that all rides are made for a small adult. I told her that I,Alyssa and her two other classmates plus a random rider had ridden the ride together before,so what was so different this time. Janet had told me well it really depends on who's running the ride. Now you tell me "is this wrong" Was it nessacary to hurt my daughters feelings in front of all the people standing around us. All I asked for was an apology to Alyssa. There are no signs saying there is a weight limit, but there is a signs everywhere saying you must be 48 inches tall to ride. Why didn't Alyssa get an apology that's what I wanna know. Mind you she is only 11. Would you be affended. I want awnsers. If you have a child that ways more than 120lbs Don't bring them to Michigans Adventure They might get wrongly Judged also. Hope to get some feedback. Thanks Rachel P.

My impression is that the person in charge was trying to be sensitive to your daughter by not bringing attention to her weight. I give them credit for sugar coating it. However, if weight is a constraint, it should be plainly indicated as such. So, an apology is due you from the manager, not the operator IMO.

So that's why the boater went overboard? Too much sugar?
