Most communities have warning signs, many have flags and some even have lifeguards and they all still have drownings.

South Haven has signs-before the pier-on the pier-by the paying slots on the parking lot- before you enter the beach. It warns about the currents and what to do if one is in one. The pier has about 6-7 life line/tube things and stairs.
