For the life of me I can not understand what is so hard to see. I was called a liar and told I was only blood not family. It's cool. But do not presume to think that because he is my "blood" that the facts are anything but that- facts. It is not just Roger it is all of our officials. While some have no power indetermining who is hired or fired one of them should have suggested hiring an accountant. I am sure that at least one of our alderman has a business or a rental property.

While we are racially diverse, we all overall behind. At least in morals. We cry out more family values, we cry out better community, more public projects and then what? Because someone is not from the same " class" as you they are not equal. White, black, rich, poor, we are protected equally under the same laws. I love my community. I was sceptical about moving back but I wanted the dream that this town holds. Home, family, friends, community. Isn't that part of what bedroom community means.

Further more, the name if the town is CHURCH POINT the highest part of the church. This town ws founded on strong Catholic priciples. Very few people who live in Church Point are not Catholic. Great, good, I like to see a strong group of faithful people. I was also informed that God plays a part in altercations about city matters. So I would like to enlighten thorugh reason what I see to be true. God and the law are about the same I don't hurt you; you don't hurt me. Borrowing wothout asking is stealing, you took something from someone else that was not yours or was not yet yours. The law and God say that. Withholding the truth about money that belongs to all the residents in this town is lying. You get fines becasue it is against the law.

We want the children to have a good, clean, safe place where they can go to learn, in part, the life lessons that will make them honest productive adults. We want them to always tell us the truth and never to lie. why should be expect less from the adults that run this town? We all want to be treated as equals and receive the same service from our government as the next person.

I agree some in this town do not want progress. But it's not who you think. How long must we walk around blind folded to the facts. I have broad shoulders and do not mind being asked to prove my point. I actually think there are people who are mad at me because I said all this. Why are so many people mad at me when all I did was tell them the truth. I thought that's what you do. You help thy neighbor. So why when given the opprotunity I would not help all my neighbors.

I think the next tax brought up for vote should be a dedicated tax for an accountant. A permanent accountant for the town, who's only job is to keep the Town's books. I wuold vote yes for that tax. Actually I voated yes for this past tax for the same reason. I wanted to see of the town would hire someone to manage it's finances. I also think that the police station should never have been allowed to fall into such disrepair. And while some on the police force are fair to all residents they are overshadowed by the bad ones. At my job there is a restroom. Officers work long shifts and some live in other towns. What happens if an urge to go hits when your on a call? What if you can't hold it? Come on. No bathroom. Last night they had three or four officers on patrol, a dispatcher and officers were in and out of the station. One finding was inadequate gun control. Maybe we should also hire an officer to stay at the station to watch the guns, and the prisoners. There is usually someone is those cells anyway. I am glad to see that we have more than one police officer at a time patrolling now. I think that that is a step in the right direction.

I have offended some I know. I told things that some would like best forgotten. But your tax dollar is no better than mine. I have to pay for going to college and having the job I have. I have to work for that money and if you want more of it than it should be better monitored and accounted for. Our town government has taken money from dedicated taxes for streets, drainage, and sidewalks to pay the Court Clerk. I know she needs to be paid but there should be a sperate account for that. Look I don't mean to come as a know it all, and sometimes I do. I'm not and don't presume to be. I have never run for any political office because I don't feel I am smart enough. So if I know these things are wrong shouldn't the people who are running this town? And if not shouldn't they be?

I don't know what short man syndrome is. And I don;t know how you found out we are related. Because i knew as soon as it was known it would cloud the issue. I can assure you it is only the political issues that I am intereseted in. Please do not be deceived into thinking otherwise. It boils down in the end to money. He controls it because there is no accountant. The record speaks for itself. He also is the judge at toen court. Not a police officer. The problem, however, does not end there. The others members of the counsel must have known to some extent that these things were going on. Why has none of them put out flyers, bulletins, or post to a forum? They aer in place to make sure that the people are represented, not there to try to help hide mistakes. I am not insinuating that they are all corrupt. Maybe they have been silenced so long they have lost their voice. They are our elected leaders. We put them there. We are the voice. No matter who is in office they should be held at a higher legal and moral standard. They are the face of this community.

I think in general the people have forgotten what this country was supposed to be founded on. The idea that some governments are powerful and can be corrupt. It's the reaaon we fought England. We were tired of the corruption. Great men and women died to make our laws and allow us these freedoms. To give us the voice. I for one do not want to let them down. And though I am only one voice I hope that it was loud enough to help make a difference.

bravo Oriana....very well stated....and all you say is the TRUTH....some people in this town go around with blinders on...how can you say one is unethical,TC, for example as someone brought up in another topic, and in the same breath defend the same thing our Mayor is doing as doing it FOR THE TOWN? seems like a double standard to me....its as i said....everybody wants change and progress as long as they don't have to change anything...whenever its going to affect the so called progress people in the pocketbook or in how they do things watch how fast they still want progress...its called a clique...and our state is the worst......our parish the worst in the state...and our town is the worst in the parish....ever wonder why???...good ole boy politics....at least our governor is trying to change that image....if Church Point wants change and progress we too will have to change the way we do things and think...its called DOING THE RIGHT THING for EVERYBODY..not just a select few....

They are the face of this community. good point....all these aldermen need to be held accountable...WE vote them in office and most of THEM are in Roger's back pocket...Slu is the only one who ever asks any questions about taxes or other items in which the mayor says we need an increase of....check back see...all of these city employees have gotten pretty good raises the past few years...including our mayor....and all these special council meetings that have been called where the aldermen are paid an extra 150.00 is wasteful spending....get the job done at your regular council meeting..try cutting back on expenses, like we are all having to do instead of trying to pass taxes to give yourself a raise...don't forget...you were voted in.....you can be either recalled at anytime....or you can be voted out the next election....i think their will be big changes come 2 years...people are fed up with the same ole same ole...so aldermen...all of you....look in the mirror really close...and start doing the right thing...not Roger's or your thing...you are supposed to represent your district....and your town...start doing it..off to work...have a great weekend

J-floyd, you say do the right thing, but you seem to forget people's visions of the right thing are different. You do nothing wrong, you voice your opinion and give details to back them up to boot, any english teacher would be proud. You don't leave us with cloudy thoughts wondering what you said because you are detailed, Although, I think most of your views are wrong. You seem to stress that this tax is for a pay raise to the people of power, I do not share this notion. I think it is for self pride myself. As I said earlier, we do not need a lot of the things we want to improve, but it would make us look so much better. It would help iwth our representation, and our town's self esteem. It is nice having people pass to your town and saying it is a pretty place, I for one want this, therefore, I am 100% behind the tax.

The tax is over for the moment. I think that most of the people that voted no on the tax were not so much against the tax but did not want more money to be mismanaged by our elected officials. But I am sure that some are against the tax just like some are for it. I do not want to confuse the issue. More money for CP good, letting the wrong people getting to play in it bad.

Who paid the Court Clerk out of the 1% sales tax? Who was the one who was getting free water? There is no accountant. He must be able to access the money somehow or he could not have gotten an advance on his auto payment.

People wake up Oriana tries to pretend she knows it all and yet she does not know that Roger has not been the court judge for atleast two years now. He gave up the headache because people did not appreciate the fact that he was not paid any more and once again everything was his fault. He makes criminals what they are. Please.

I pretend nothing. I do not know it all. But are you telling me that he quit doing on of the duties as mayor because he wasn't getting paid? I think for $3,000.00 per month, a car, gas, and health insurance he really should have no reason to complain about the money end of it. I only complained about whne he uses his power as"judge" outside the court room. There is no way he make a other person commit a crime. Each person makes their own choices. He is the head guy in our local government, he is after all the mayor. Of course people will blame things on him. And the most probable reason why people kept blaming things on him is simple, how can a person pass a guilty judgment on one person in the court and let someone else off outside of court.

So you think by putting out your sad little story everyone will agree with you. Trying to ruin people because of a blood line -that makes you correct on everything.Does that make it right- accusing people of doing things you think you know. Since when were you crowned Queen of all? No my dear you are not all right and you do not know all things. People make mistakes in life, you are well Aware of that I am sure. Like the story about your dog, for one. May be if you would tell people why you dislike the man so much they would understand the grudge you have against him. And don't come on here and tell people you know him when you really don't.Look deep inside your so called heart since you are so high and mighty and you know so much. Oh by the way congratulations on your education... oriana wrote: Who paid the Court Clerk out of the 1% sales tax? Who was the one who was getting free water? There is no accountant.
